The Ritman University Fine and Applied Arts cut off mark for 2027/2028 is, in practice, the JAMB national minimum of 150 for universities. Ritman University, a private university in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, has not published a separate cut-off for Fine and Applied Arts: Ritman’s admissions page does not print a number. It only asks candidates to meet the UTME cut-off for their chosen course. Fine and Applied Arts is one of Ritman’s new Arts degrees and is not yet on JAMB’s course list for Ritman.
2027/2028 update: Ritman cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Ritman’s October 2025 notice lists a B.A. in Fine and Applied Arts in its Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Below I explain what the missing JAMB entry means, the subjects (Fine Art is compulsory), a safe target score, Ritman’s CBT screening and the CAPS steps.

| JAMB minimum for universities | 150 | Official (JAMB policy meeting, 11 May 2026) |
| Safe target score | 155 to 170 | My advice, not a Ritman rule |

| Course name on Ritman’s own list | B.A. Fine and Applied Arts | Ritman’s admission notice of 21 October 2025 |

Is Fine and Applied Arts on JAMB’s list for Ritman?
No. JAMB’s course list for Ritman (Myschool reprint) has 19 courses, and Fine and Applied Arts is not one of them. Ritman’s own admission notice of 21 October 2025 does list B.A. Fine and Applied Arts in its Faculty of Arts and Humanities, among 40 NUC-approved programmes.
A university can only make you an offer on CAPS in a course JAMB holds for it. New programmes often take a while to reach JAMB’s list. Ritman has not published how it registers Fine and Applied Arts candidates in the meantime, so contact the admissions office (0808 983 5170, or WhatsApp 0806 833 3919) before you register and ask which JAMB course to choose. None of the Arts courses on JAMB’s list for Ritman is close to Fine Arts, which makes the confirmation more important.
Ritman Fine and Applied Arts cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | Not published | Ritman figure for Fine and Applied Arts | Admissions page asks only for the course cut-off |
| 2026/2027 | 150 | JAMB national minimum for universities | Official |
| 2025/2026 | 150 | Ritman minimum as summarised by a blog | Unofficial (Myschoolgist); no Ritman document cited |
Ritman’s admissions page still says, in its JUPEB section, that JUPEB suits candidates who scored below 140. That figure is an older JAMB floor. For 2026 JAMB set 150 as the minimum for universities, so I would not plan with 140 for Fine and Applied Arts or any other Ritman course.
Safe target score for Fine and Applied Arts at Ritman (my advice)
This is my judgement as an admissions adviser. Ritman University does not publish merit lists or the lowest score it admitted, so the bands below are planning ranges.
| Your UTME score | My read for Fine and Applied Arts at Ritman |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible for a university this session |
| 150 to 154 | Eligible. Admission is possible at a private university, but you have no margin |
| 155 to 169 | Comfortable for Fine and Applied Arts at Ritman |
| 170 and above | Strong. You can also keep a federal or state university option open |
Fine and Applied Arts has modest demand and draws candidates with art backgrounds. For 2027 I would aim for 155 or more, ideally 170, with a good Fine Art credit.
UTME subject combination and O’level for Fine and Applied Arts at Ritman
| Requirement | Fine and Applied Arts at Ritman |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects (JAMB brochure) | Use of English plus Fine Arts and two other Arts or Social Science subjects |
| O’level (JAMB brochure) | Five credits including English Language and Fine Arts |
| Ritman’s own O’level rule | Five credits in WAEC, NECO or GCE, including English Language and Mathematics, in no more than two sittings (Ritman admissions page) |
| Special Ritman remark on JAMB’s page | None listed |
| Awaiting result | Ritman has not published a rule; upload results to CAPS as soon as they are out |
Fine Arts is compulsory in both the UTME and O’level under JAMB’s line. Students who did not take Fine Art at school cannot meet it. Ritman also asks for a Mathematics credit for every course.
Many art departments ask for a portfolio or practical test. Ritman has not published one, but keep a small portfolio of your work ready.
Direct Entry into Fine and Applied Arts
JAMB’s brochure line for Direct Entry: two A-level passes in Arts or Fine Arts and any other subject. Ritman’s own rule: five O’level credits including English and Mathematics (two sittings at most), plus OND, NCE, IJMB or A-level for 200 level entry (Ritman admissions page). Register Direct Entry with JAMB, not only on the Ritman portal; a DE offer still has to appear on CAPS.
How Ritman screening works for Fine and Applied Arts
Ritman screens UTME and Direct Entry candidates with a computer-based test (CBT). Candidates apply online at applicant.safapply.com/ritmanuniversity, sit the test, and those offered admission then go through an ICT training and orientation programme. The admissions page warns that false entries on the online form can lead to disqualification. Ritman has not published the CBT’s subjects, length or pass mark.
A 2025/2026 blog summary (Myschoolgist) said the form and screening cost ₦10,000 and that candidates brought a passport photograph, their JAMB result slip and the payment evidence to an aptitude test. Ritman has not confirmed that amount on any page I could open, so confirm it on the portal before paying.
Worked example for a Fine and Applied Arts candidate
Ritman has not published how it weighs the UTME against its CBT. Many Nigerian universities convert both to a score out of 100 by dividing the UTME by 8 (up to 50 marks) and scaling the screening test to 50. I use that method below only as an illustration; it is not a Ritman formula.
- UTME: Emem scored 160. 160 divided by 8 = 20.00 out of 50.
- CBT: suppose Emem scores 66% on Ritman’s test. Half of that is 33.0 out of 50.
- Illustrative aggregate: 20.00 + 33.0 = 53.00 out of 100.
- Margin over the floor: 160 minus 150 = 10 marks above JAMB’s minimum, and 5 marks above my safe target of 155.
- What I would advise: she is above my target. She must confirm which JAMB course Ritman wants Fine Arts candidates to register.
Admission odds for Fine and Applied Arts at Ritman
The score is unlikely to be the barrier for Fine and Applied Arts at Ritman. The risk is administrative, because JAMB does not list the course for Ritman.
- Choose Ritman first: Ritman also accepts candidates through a JAMB change of institution, according to its October 2025 notice.
- Upload O’level early: no university can give you admission on CAPS without your results there.
- Apply before the private-university deadline: JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for private universities, so the 2026/2027 exercise runs until that date.
- Keep a second option: if you also hold a strong score, apply to a public university in the next cycle as well.
How to apply for Fine and Applied Arts at Ritman, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME with the right subjects: Use of English, Fine Arts and two of Literature in English, Government, CRS or History, under the course Ritman tells you to choose, with Ritman University as your first choice. Follow Ritman’s written instruction on the JAMB course.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do it at a JAMB-accredited centre as soon as your results are out. Check that the grades show correctly.
- Apply on the Ritman portal: applicant.safapply.com/ritmanuniversity. Fill the form with the same names as on your JAMB and O’level records.
- Sit the CBT screening: bring what the portal asks for, which blogs say includes your JAMB slip and a passport photograph.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept the offer and print your JAMB admission letter. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each CAPS status.
- Pay acceptance and register: pay only through the invoice the portal generates, then complete clearance and the ICT orientation.
Warning
Fine and Applied Arts is not on JAMB’s course list for Ritman. Ask Ritman in writing which JAMB course to register, and accept only an offer that shows on JAMB CAPS.
Fees for Fine and Applied Arts at Ritman
Ritman’s Pay Fees page carries a revised fee schedule for the 2024/2025 session, posted as two images. I could not read the amounts from it, and no 2026/2027 schedule was published there when I checked. Ask the admissions office (info@ritmanuniversity.edu.ng, 0808 983 5170) for the current Fine and Applied Arts tuition before you accept an offer.

Mistakes that cost Fine and Applied Arts applicants a place
- Registering a course JAMB does not hold for Ritman: confirm the course code first.
- No Fine Art credit: JAMB’s line makes it compulsory.
- Treating 150 as a guarantee: it only makes you eligible.
- O’level not on CAPS: without it, no offer can be made.
- Accepting on CAPS and stopping there: acceptance fee, clearance and registration at Ritman are separate steps.
If you are writing the UTME again in 2027, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts and, if you chose another school, how to do a JAMB change of institution.
