The Topfaith University Telecommunications Engineering cut off mark for 2027/2028 is, in practice, the JAMB national minimum of 150 for universities. Topfaith University, a private university in Mkpatak, Akwa Ibom State, has not published a separate cut-off for Telecommunications Engineering: Topfaith’s admissions page does not print a number. It only asks candidates to meet the UTME cut-off in the relevant subjects. Telecommunications Engineering is on JAMB’s list for Topfaith and costs ₦2 million a session, but JAMB’s brochure page for it, as Myschool reprints it, carries a subject line that does not fit an engineering degree.
2027/2028 update: Topfaith cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Below are the official position, a safe target score, JAMB’s subject lines, what Topfaith has published about screening, a worked example with the first-year bill, the CAPS steps and the programme itself.
Topfaith University Telecommunications Engineering cut off mark 2027/2028 at a glance

Is Telecommunications Engineering on JAMB’s list for Topfaith?
Yes. JAMB’s course list for Topfaith (Myschool reprint) has 24 course names, and it spells this one Telecommuniction Engineering, a typing error in the reprint. Topfaith’s 2026/2027 fees page lists Telecommunications Engineering at ₦2,000,000 a session for new students. So you can choose it on your JAMB profile and Topfaith can offer it on CAPS.
Two Topfaith programmes are missing from JAMB’s list, Medicine and Surgery and Cybersecurity, so the check is worth making for every course. Telecommunications Engineering is not affected.
Topfaith Telecommunications Engineering cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | Not published | Topfaith figure for Telecommunications Engineering | Admissions page asks only for the UTME cut-off |
| 2026/2027 | No score given | Myschool reprint of Topfaith’s Post-UTME notice (20 May 2026) | Reprint |
| 2026/2027 | 150 | JAMB national minimum for universities | Official |
Topfaith has never printed a course-by-course cut-off in any notice I could find. Blogs that quote one for Telecommunications Engineering do not cite a Topfaith document, so treat 150 as the floor and your own score margin as the thing you control.
Safe target score for Telecommunications Engineering at Topfaith (my advice)
This is my judgement as an admissions adviser. Topfaith University does not publish merit lists or the lowest score it admitted, so the bands below are planning ranges.
| Your UTME score | My read for Telecommunications Engineering at Topfaith |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible for a university this session |
| 150 to 164 | Eligible. Admission is possible at a private university, but you have no margin |
| 165 to 189 | Comfortable for Telecommunications Engineering at Topfaith |
| 190 and above | Strong. You can also keep a federal or state university option open |
Engineering courses draw strong science candidates. For 2027 I would aim for 165 or more, ideally 190, with good credits in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
UTME subject combination and O’level for Telecommunications Engineering at Topfaith
| Requirement | Telecommunications Engineering at Topfaith |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects (JAMB brochure) | Use of English plus Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, the usual engineering line (Myschool’s reprint shows Mathematics, Economics and one of Accounting, Commerce or Government, which looks like an error) |
| O’level (JAMB brochure) | Five credits including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and one other science subject (the usual engineering line; see the note on JAMB’s page) |
| Topfaith’s own O’level rule | Five SSCE credits including English Language and Mathematics, in no more than two sittings (Topfaith admissions page) |
| Special Topfaith remark on JAMB’s page | None listed |
| Awaiting result | Topfaith has not published a rule; upload results to CAPS as soon as they are out |
Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s page for this course prints the UTME line as Mathematics, Economics and one of Accounting, Commerce or Government, with O’level credits in English, Economics and Mathematics. That line is identical to the one on Myschool’s Information Technology page and does not fit a B.Eng. in Topfaith’s Faculty of Engineering. I think it is a copying error.
My advice: sit Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, which every other engineering course at Topfaith requires, then check the line on your own JAMB e-Facility brochure and ask Topfaith to confirm in writing.
Direct Entry into Telecommunications Engineering
JAMB’s brochure line for Direct Entry: A-level passes, an ND or an HND in relevant subjects, into 200 or 300 level (as printed on JAMB’s page). Topfaith’s own rule: five O’level credits plus two A-level passes, an ND or HND at credit level, or a first degree (Topfaith admissions page). Register Direct Entry with JAMB, not only on the Topfaith portal; a DE offer still has to appear on CAPS.
How Topfaith screening works for Telecommunications Engineering
Topfaith’s admissions page lists the entry routes (UTME, Direct Entry and transfer) and says applicants must choose Topfaith as first choice. It does not describe a test, give a screening date or name a form fee, and the Myschool reprint of its 2026/2027 notice (20 May 2026) adds no format either. Apply at topfaith.edu.ng/application and follow the instructions the portal gives for your session.
Worked example for a Telecommunications Engineering candidate
With no published screening formula, the useful sums are your score margin and your first-year bill.
- Score margin: Utibe scored 172. 172 minus 150 = 22 marks above JAMB’s floor; 7 above my safe target of 165.
- O’level check: credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology meet the usual engineering O’level line.
- Known first-year cost: tuition of ₦2,000,000 plus the ₦100,000 acceptance fee = ₦2,100,000, before accommodation, books and other charges that the fees page lists separately or not at all.
- What I would advise: she is above my target. She should ask Topfaith to confirm the UTME subjects, given the odd line on JAMB’s page.
Admission odds for Telecommunications Engineering at Topfaith
Topfaith’s engineering intakes are small and its applicant pool is far smaller than at federal universities of technology. With 165 or more, credits in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and Topfaith as first choice, your chances are good. At ₦2 million a session for five years, cost is usually the harder question.
- Choose Topfaith first: Topfaith’s admissions page makes first choice a condition.
- Upload O’level early: no university can give you admission on CAPS without your results there.
- Apply before the private-university deadline: JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for private universities, so the 2026/2027 exercise runs until that date.
- Keep a second option: if you also hold a strong score, apply to a public university in the next cycle as well.
How to apply for Telecommunications Engineering at Topfaith, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME with the right subjects: Use of English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, with Topfaith University as your first choice. If Topfaith was not your first choice, fix that with a JAMB change of institution before screening.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do it at a JAMB-accredited centre as soon as your results are out. Check that the grades show correctly.
- Apply on the Topfaith portal: topfaith.edu.ng/application. Fill the form with the same names as on your JAMB and O’level records.
- Complete screening: follow the steps the Topfaith portal gives, since no format has been published.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept the offer and print your JAMB admission letter. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each CAPS status.
- Pay acceptance and register: the acceptance fee for freshers is ₦100,000 and is not refundable, so accept on CAPS first and pay only through the official channel.
Warning
The subject line for Telecommunications Engineering on Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s brochure looks wrong for an engineering degree. Check the line on your JAMB e-Facility brochure and get Topfaith’s confirmation before you register your subjects.
Fees for Telecommunications Engineering at Topfaith
Topfaith’s 2026/2027 fees page lists Telecommunications Engineering tuition at ₦2,000,000 per session for 2026/2027 freshers, with a ₦100,000 acceptance fee. The page does not list an application or screening fee. Accommodation and other charges are not part of the tuition figure, so ask the bursary for the full first-year bill before you accept.
Studying Telecommunications Engineering at Topfaith
Telecommunications Engineering sits in Topfaith’s Faculty of Engineering. A B.Eng. normally runs for five years in Nigeria (four for Direct Entry), with industrial training built in; Topfaith has not published its own duration on the pages I checked.
About Topfaith University
Topfaith University is a private university at Mkpatak in Akwa Ibom State. It held its first matriculation in May 2022, and its 2026/2027 fees page lists 26 programmes across five faculties: Computing and Applied Sciences, Engineering, Law, Management and Social Sciences, and Medical Sciences. NUC’s results list shows 13 Topfaith programmes with Full accreditation. Tuition ranges from ₦1.8 million to ₦3.6 million a session, so the fee is often the deciding factor for families choosing between Topfaith and a public university.
What you study
- Engineering mathematics, workshop practice and technical drawing in the early years
- Signals and systems, electromagnetic fields and antennas
- Analogue and digital communication, mobile and satellite systems
- Data networks, fibre optics and switching
- Industrial training (SIWES) and a final-year design project
Accreditation
Telecommunications Engineering does not appear under Topfaith in NUC’s Accreditation Results 1990 to 2025, which lists 13 Topfaith programmes with Full accreditation. I list its accreditation as not confirmed; ask Topfaith for the programme’s current NUC status before you accept.
I found no Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) accreditation record naming Topfaith, so I list COREN status as not confirmed. COREN accreditation matters for registering as an engineer later, so ask the faculty about it.
Careers
Telecommunications engineers work with mobile network operators, internet and fibre providers, broadcasting companies, equipment vendors and regulators. Network planning, radio and transmission engineering are common entry roles.

Mistakes that cost Telecommunications Engineering applicants a place
- Dropping Chemistry or Physics: JAMB’s engineering line needs both with Mathematics.
- Treating 150 as a guarantee: it only makes you eligible.
- O’level not on CAPS: without it, no offer can be made.
- Accepting on CAPS and stopping there: acceptance fee, clearance and registration at Topfaith are separate steps.
If you are writing the UTME again in 2027, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts and, if you chose another school, how to do a JAMB change of institution.
