There is no published Peaceland College of Education Biology, Chemistry and Physics cut off mark for 2027/2028, and under the 2026 rules NCE candidates do not need a UTME score at all. Peaceland College of Education, Enugu is listed by JAMB for five science pairings built on these subjects: Biology/Chemistry, Biology/Physics, Chemistry/Physics, Geography/Chemistry and Geography/Physics. With at least four O’level credit passes you are exempt from the UTME, but you still register with JAMB and the offer still comes through CAPS.
2027/2028 update: Peaceland College of Education admission requirements and entry rules usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the position on this page is what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. It comes from the latest official position (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 rules change anything, we will update this page.
Peaceland has not published a departmental minimum or a screening score for any of these pairings in any notice I found. This page covers what is on record (JAMB’s national rules, the college’s own adverts and JAMB’s NCE registration steps) and marks my own advice clearly as advice.

Peaceland has never published a cut-off mark for Biology, Chemistry and Physics on its own. The 140 figure in 2024 covered every form the college was selling that year, including its degree programme, which no longer takes new students (more on that below). The 100 figure was JAMB’s floor for all colleges of education in 2025/2026. For 2026/2027 the score question mostly disappears, because NCE candidates with four credits are not asked to write the UTME.
Do you need JAMB or UTME for Biology, Chemistry and Physics at Peaceland College of Education?
You need JAMB. You do not need the UTME, as long as you hold at least four O’level credit passes. Three official statements in 2026 set this out:
- 11 May 2026: at JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting, the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, said NCE candidates with a minimum of four credit passes will no longer sit the UTME. They must still register with JAMB, and their results are checked through CAPS before any admission letter is issued.
- June 2026: JAMB’s NCE registration guide set out the fees and the CAPS process, and said no 100 level or 200 level degree admission into any college of education is allowed from 2026/2027, affiliated degrees included. Everyone who enters a college of education now enters through NCE.
- 23 July 2026: NCE registration without UTME opened at Institutional Professional Registration Centres (IPRCs) in colleges of education and at JAMB professional registration centres.
On timing, Nairametrics reported on 11 May 2026 that the exemption would take effect from the 2027 admission cycle, while JAMB’s June 2026 guide and Legit’s 23 July 2026 report show it was already being used for 2026 admissions. For a 2027/2028 candidate both readings point the same way: if you are going for NCE, you do not write the UTME.
What JAMB charges for NCE registration
| Item | Amount | Who pays it |
|---|---|---|
| O’level verification code, one sitting | ₦1,500 | Every NCE applicant (bought from the exam body) |
| O’level verification code, two sittings | ₦2,000 | Applicants combining two results |
| JAMB NCE application fee | ₦3,500 | New NCE applicants who did not register for the 2026 UTME |
| CBT or IPRC centre charge | ₦700 | Every NCE applicant |
| Moving a 2026 UTME application to NCE | ₦700 only | UTME candidates whose first choice was a college of education |
These are JAMB’s 2026/2027 amounts. The 2027/2028 guide may change them, so confirm the figure at the centre before you pay. Peaceland’s own form, if it sells one, is a separate charge the college has not published.
Safe target for the science pairings at Peaceland (my advice)
This is my judgement. Peaceland has not said how it ranks NCE applicants.
With no UTME score in the picture, your O’level carries the weight. For a science pairing, the grades that matter most are English, Mathematics and the two subjects you will teach. This is how I would read your position:
| Your O’level position | My read for a Peaceland science pairing |
|---|---|
| Fewer than four credits | Not eligible for the no-UTME route; resit first |
| Credits in both teaching subjects, but no credit in Mathematics | Weak, and very weak for any pairing with Physics or Chemistry |
| Five credits including English, Mathematics and both teaching subjects, two sittings | Meets the usual college of education standard |
| Five or more credits in one sitting, with B grades in both teaching subjects | Strong. This is what I would aim for |
If you also write the 2027 UTME for a university, the 2026 university minimum was 150. Keep that separate in your head: Peaceland’s NCE admission does not depend on it, and JAMB will not process you for NCE and UTME at the same time.
The five science pairings and the credits each one needs
Peaceland does not list single-subject Biology, Chemistry or Physics. Each is read with a second subject, and there is no Biology/Mathematics or Physics/Mathematics pairing on the college’s JAMB list. These are the five that are there:
| Combination | Credits I would have (besides English and Mathematics) | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Biology/Chemistry | Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Agricultural Science | The usual route for future Basic Science and Biology teachers |
| Biology/Physics | Biology, Physics, Chemistry | Less common pairing; check that it is running this session |
| Chemistry/Physics | Chemistry, Physics, and a good Mathematics grade | The most Mathematics-heavy of the five |
| Geography/Chemistry | Geography, Chemistry, Physics or Biology | Also covered on our Geography page |
| Geography/Physics | Geography, Physics, Chemistry | Also covered on our Geography page |
The credit lists are my advice based on general college of education practice. Peaceland has not published subject rules for any pairing. The five-credit rule with English and Mathematics is the usual standard for NCE, while the federal exemption only speaks of four credits without naming subjects. I would apply with five, so neither rule can be used against you.
O’level and UTME summary
| Requirement | Science pairings at Peaceland |
|---|---|
| UTME | Not required for NCE candidates with at least four credits (2026 policy) |
| O’level (Peaceland’s own rule) | Not published in any source reached |
| O’level (usual rule) | Five credits at no more than two sittings, including English, Mathematics and both teaching subjects (general practice) |
| UTME subjects, only if you write UTME anyway | Use of English plus your two teaching subjects and one other science (JAMB’s usual pattern; confirm on the e-brochure) |
| Awaiting results | Cannot be proposed on CAPS until the result is uploaded |
| Direct Entry | No 100 or 200 level degree entry into any college of education from 2026/2027 |
Worked example for a science applicant (illustrative)
Peaceland has not published a formula, so these made-up cases test candidates against the rules rather than a score.
Chiamaka has one NECO sitting: English C6, Mathematics C5, Biology B2, Chemistry B3, Physics C6, Agricultural Science B3, Civic Education C4 and Igbo D7. She wants Biology/Chemistry.
- Credit count: seven credits, above the four-credit rule.
- Five-credit check: English and Mathematics both credited, one sitting.
- Teaching subjects: B2 in Biology and B3 in Chemistry. That is a strong file for this pairing.
- Process: NECO verification code (₦1,500), NCE registration with Peaceland as first choice (₦3,500 plus ₦700), then CAPS.
Kenechukwu has two WAEC sittings and wants Chemistry/Physics. His best grades are English C6, Chemistry C5, Physics C4, Biology C6 and Geography C5, but Mathematics is D7 in both sittings. He has five credits, so he clears the federal four-credit rule, yet he fails the usual English-and-Mathematics standard, and Chemistry/Physics is the worst pairing to try without Mathematics. I would advise him to resit Mathematics or look at Geography/Chemistry instead, and to ask the college directly before paying anything.
Your chances of admission into a science pairing at Peaceland
Peaceland does not publish applicant numbers per pairing. Pure science pairings at NCE level usually attract fewer applicants than arts and business courses, which helps a candidate with good science credits. In my judgement, credits in English, Mathematics and both teaching subjects from one sitting put you in a good position.
- Make Peaceland your first choice. NCE registrations go to the first-choice college.
- Ask whether your pairing is running. A pairing on JAMB’s list may not take students every session.
- Check your verification code details. CAPS compares them with WAEC or NECO records.
- Watch CAPS. You must accept the offer there.
How to apply for Biology, Chemistry and Physics at Peaceland College of Education, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Buy your O’level verification code: from WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or NBAIS. JAMB lists ₦1,500 for one sitting and ₦2,000 for two. Write down the exam year, exam number and subjects exactly as on your result.
- Register for NCE at a JAMB centre or IPRC: pay ₦3,500 plus the ₦700 centre charge, choose Peaceland College of Education, Enugu as your first choice and pick the science pairing you want, for example Biology/Chemistry. Your biometrics are captured and you get a slip.
- Make sure your O’level is on CAPS: your results and verification code must be uploaded, because CAPS checks them against the exam body’s record. A candidate marked Awaiting Results cannot be proposed until the result is uploaded.
- Already registered for UTME? If a college of education was your first choice, JAMB moves you to NCE and you pay ₦700 only. Once you are recommended for NCE, your UTME process is suspended, so you cannot run both.
- Fill Peaceland’s own form if it asks for one: the college has not published a portal address or form price in any source I reached. The “portal” link in Myschool’s 2026/2027 report points to Myschool’s own page for the college. Confirm with the college in Enugu before you pay anyone.
- Wait for the proposal and recommendation: under JAMB’s guide, the college proposes you on CAPS, the Provost recommends you, and JAMB then checks your O’level before the offer shows.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept within four weeks or the offer can be withdrawn. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay the acceptance fee and register: Peaceland has not published its acceptance or school fees. Pay only through the channel on your admission letter or the college’s official notice.
If you are still chasing a 2026/2027 place, JAMB’s admission window for colleges of education runs until 31 December 2026. Candidates planning for 2027/2028 should watch for the next NCE registration notice and register with Peaceland as first choice from the start.
Warning
The Federal Government has said any admission done outside JAMB CAPS is illegal. If someone offers you a Peaceland College of Education place that never shows on CAPS, or asks for money to “process” one, do not pay.
About Peaceland College of Education, Enugu
Peaceland College of Education is a private college of education in Enugu. It appears as “Peaceland College of Education, Enugu” on the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) list of accredited colleges, where it is shown as open, with Rev. Fr. Dr. Leo Ilechukwu named as Provost. A business directory gives its address as 1 Old Path Close, opposite ESUT MSP, by Nkpokiti Junction, Independence Layout, Enugu, and says it was set up in 2014; I could not confirm either detail on a college page, so check before you travel.
It is a different institution from Peaceland University, Enugu. The names are close and some blogs mix them up, but the university admits degree students with UTME scores, while the college runs NCE. A Peaceland University form is not a Peaceland College of Education form.
In its 2026/2027 advert, as reported by Myschool on 18 July 2026, the college offered NCE, the Professional Diploma in Education (PDE), the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and part-time study, and described its courses as fully accredited. The advert did not give requirements, prices or dates. Its 2024/2025 advert also offered a degree programme. Blogs have linked that degree to Abia State University, and a directory links the college to Anambra State University; neither link was confirmed. Since JAMB has stopped new degree admissions into colleges of education from 2026/2027, plan to take any degree at a university after your NCE.
Accreditation
NCE programmes are regulated by the NCCE. The college is on the NCCE accredited list, but I could not confirm the accreditation status of each Biology, Chemistry and Physics combination, so I am not claiming it. Ask the college for the current NCCE status of your exact combination before you accept an offer.
Studying NCE Biology, Chemistry or Physics at Peaceland College of Education
NCE normally takes three years full time. Peaceland has not published course outlines for these pairings, so this is a general description of NCE science study.
- Biology: cell biology, plant and animal diversity, genetics, ecology and practical work with specimens.
- Chemistry: general, organic and inorganic chemistry, with laboratory practicals and simple analysis.
- Physics: mechanics, heat, waves, electricity and magnetism, with laboratory work.
- Education courses: educational psychology, curriculum studies and methods of teaching science.
- Teaching practice: supervised teaching in a primary or junior secondary school.
Before resumption, revising with the JAMB Biology syllabus or the JAMB Chemistry syllabus is a sensible way to close gaps from secondary school, even though you will not write the UTME.
Careers and further study
- Teaching: Basic Science in primary and junior secondary schools, plus your two subjects. The NCE is Nigeria’s minimum teaching qualification.
- Registration: with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
- Other work: school laboratory assistant roles and science tutoring.
- Degree later: a B.Sc (Ed) in Biology, Chemistry or Physics at a university for senior secondary teaching.

Mistakes that cost science applicants a Peaceland place
- Registering for a pairing that is not on the list: there is no Biology/Mathematics or Physics/Mathematics at Peaceland.
- Ignoring a weak Mathematics grade: Chemistry and Physics both depend on it.
- Confusing the college with Peaceland University: the university runs UTME-based degree admission.
- Paying an unverified agent: the college has not published a portal or form price in any source reached.
- Forgetting the acceptance fee: accepting on CAPS is only half of securing the place.
Peaceland College of Education Biology, Chemistry and Physics cut off mark: frequently asked questions
Does Peaceland College of Education offer Biology Education alone? Not as a single subject on JAMB’s list. Biology is paired with Chemistry or Physics, and Chemistry and Physics are also offered with each other and with Geography.
What is the cut off mark for Biology/Chemistry in Peaceland College of Education? Peaceland has not published one. The national minimum for colleges of education was 100 in 2025/2026, and from 2026/2027 NCE candidates with at least four credits do not need a UTME score.
Can I study Chemistry/Physics at Peaceland without a credit in Mathematics? The college has not published its subject rules, but the usual college of education standard asks for Mathematics, and both subjects rely on it. I would not apply for Chemistry/Physics without a Mathematics credit.
Do I need to write JAMB UTME for NCE Biology at Peaceland? No, if you have at least four O’level credits. You still register with JAMB for NCE, pay ₦3,500 plus ₦700, and receive the offer on CAPS.
Sources and updates
The UTME exemption for NCE candidates with four credits, the JAMB registration and CAPS requirement, the 31 December 2026 deadline for colleges of education and the warning on admissions outside CAPS come from the News Agency of Nigeria report of 11 May 2026 and TheNigeriaLawyer the same day; Nairametrics (11 May 2026) is the report that dates the exemption to the 2027 cycle. The fees, verification code, IPRC registration, proposal by the college and recommendation by the Provost, the Awaiting Results rule, the UTME suspension and the end of degree admissions into colleges of education are from JAMB’s 2026 NCE and ND registration guide. The 23 July 2026 opening of NCE registration is from Nairametrics and Legit. The 2025/2026 minimum of 100 is from Nairametrics, 8 July 2025. Peaceland’s 2026/2027 advert is from Myschool (18 July 2026) and its 2024/2025 advert with the 140 figure from Myschool (31 July 2024). The combinations are from Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s course list for the college, and the college’s status and Provost from the NCCE accredited colleges list. The address and founding year are from a Finelib directory listing and were not confirmed. Peaceland’s own cut-off, screening details and fees were not published in any source reached. Checked on 29 October 2026; this page will be updated when the college or JAMB publishes the 2027/2028 position.
