Peaceland University Microbiology Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028 and Admission Requirements

Peaceland University has not published a Microbiology cut-off, so JAMB’s 150 is the floor for 2027/2028. See the JAMB subjects, O’level credits, my safe target score, screening, CAPS steps and accreditation status.

The Peaceland University Microbiology cut off mark is 150 in the UTME, which is JAMB’s national minimum for every Nigerian university in 2026/2027. Peaceland University, Enugu has not published its own cut-off for Microbiology or for any other course, and it did not appear on the list of universities that declared their own minimums at JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting. So 150 is the lowest score that can get you considered, and any higher “Peaceland Microbiology cut-off” you see on a blog is a guess.

2027/2028 update: Peaceland cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Microbiology is one of the safer courses to pick at Peaceland. It is on JAMB’s course list for the university under the name Microbiology, it appears in Peaceland’s 2026/2027 admission advert and on the programme list in the university’s own FAQ, and it is on every published list of the programmes Peaceland says NUC fully accredited after its late 2025 visit. Below you will find the figures that are actually official, my safe target score, the JAMB subjects and O’level credits, what is known about Peaceland’s screening, the CAPS steps and what the degree leads to.

Peaceland Microbiology cut-off mark history

Peaceland University was set up in 2023, so it has only run a few admission rounds, and none of them came with a published course cut-off.

SessionFigureWhat it isStatus

If a site shows you a Peaceland Microbiology cut-off of 160, 180 or 200, ask where it came from. No Peaceland notice I could find carries one.

Safe target score for Microbiology at Peaceland (my advice)

This is my judgement as an admissions adviser, not a Peaceland rule. New private universities in Enugu rarely fill their science classes with candidates in the 250s. Peaceland’s intake is capped, though: at its second matriculation the Pro-Chancellor asked NUC to raise the university’s admission quota, saying qualified applicants were being turned away (TheCable). Microbiology also attracts candidates who missed Medicine, Nursing or Medical Laboratory Science elsewhere, so a bare 150 is not where I would want you.

Your UTME scoreMy read for Peaceland Microbiology
Below 150Not eligible for any Nigerian university this session
150 to 169Eligible; your O’level grades will matter a lot
170 to 189A fair chance if your five credits are in place
190 and aboveStrong for this course at Peaceland

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for 180 or more. That score also keeps a public university such as UNN or ESUT within reach as a backup if you change your mind about a private school fee.

Peaceland Microbiology UTME subject combination and O’level requirements

Peaceland is not named in any remark on JAMB’s Microbiology entry, so the general brochure lines are the ones that apply to you. (One O’level remark names “PLASU”. That is Plateau State University, not Peaceland.)

RequirementWhat JAMB’s brochure says for Microbiology
UTME subjectsUse of English, Biology, Chemistry, and either Physics or Mathematics
O’levelFive credits: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics
Direct EntryTwo A-level passes in Chemistry and one of Biology, Zoology or Botany
Peaceland-specific remarksNone
Exams acceptedWAEC, NECO or NABTEB (Peaceland has not published a sitting rule)

Which fourth subject should you write? I would take Physics. It is the one most universities that restrict the option ask for (UNILAG, ABU, UNILORIN and others name Physics in their remarks), so Physics keeps more Microbiology doors open if you later move your choice to another school. Mathematics is allowed for Peaceland, and you need a Mathematics credit at O’level anyway.

The O’level line is stricter than many candidates expect: Physics is a required credit, alongside English, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology. Agricultural Science does not stand in for Biology under the general rule. If you have a pass in Physics rather than a credit, sort it out with a NECO or WAEC GCE sitting before you count on this course.

Direct Entry into Microbiology at Peaceland

The brochure’s base Direct Entry line is two A-level passes in Chemistry and one of Biology, Zoology or Botany, with the O’level credits above. Peaceland’s FAQ says ND, NCE, IJMB, JUPEB, HND or equivalent holders may apply for Direct Entry, but it does not give the grade or subject it wants for Microbiology. Ask the Admissions Office in writing before you buy a DE form with, say, an ND in Science Laboratory Technology.

How Peaceland screens Microbiology candidates

Peaceland has not published a screening test or an aggregate formula for 2026/2027 in any source I could reach. What its website does say is that admission for the 2026/2027 session is open for undergraduates, that you apply through its e-admission page, that it has not authorised any agent, and that payments go only through the official student portal or the Admissions Office.

Worked example for a Microbiology candidate

With no published formula, the useful sum is the gap between your score, the 150 floor and the safe target. Take Chiamaka, who scored 176 with B3 in English, C4 in Mathematics, B2 in Biology, C5 in Chemistry and C6 in Physics from one WAEC sitting.

  1. Eligibility: 176 minus 150 = 26. She clears JAMB’s minimum by 26 marks.
  2. Against my safe target: 180 minus 176 = 4. She is just under the score I would call comfortable.
  3. O’level check: all five required credits, one sitting. C6 is still a credit, so Physics counts.
  4. My advice: apply on Peaceland’s portal early, upload her O’level to CAPS, and keep checking CAPS rather than waiting for a phone call.

Emeka scored 163 but has a D7 in Physics. His score is eligible (13 above 150), but under JAMB’s general O’level line he is missing a required credit. That is the bigger problem, and a higher UTME score would not fix it.

How to apply for Microbiology at Peaceland, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register the UTME: choose Peaceland University and the course Microbiology, with Use of English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics (or Mathematics). If you already registered another school, do a JAMB change of institution.
  3. Upload your O’level to CAPS: at a JAMB-accredited centre. Without it, CAPS cannot match you to the course.
  4. Apply on Peaceland’s portal: open the e-admission link on peacelanduni.edu.ng, fill the undergraduate form and pay only through the portal’s own payment option.
  5. Watch CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS.
  6. Accept or reject the offer: JAMB gives you four weeks. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
  7. Pay acceptance and fees: Peaceland’s FAQ says fees vary by programme and faculty, that instalment payment is allowed under university rules, and that scholarships exist for qualified students. Its fee schedule lists ₦200,000 at 100 level for the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, with a ₦10,000 form and ₦10,000 acceptance fee; confirm the amount on the portal before you pay.

Warning

Free-ad sites are full of posts that print a phone number and promise Peaceland “admission forms” or “admission lists”. Peaceland says it has no authorised agents and takes payment only through its official portal or Admissions Office. Every genuine offer also appears on JAMB CAPS.

Do not confuse Peaceland University with Peaceland College of Education, Enugu. The university grew out of the college, but the college still runs separately and admits for the NCE. A college form will not get you a B.Sc. in Microbiology.

Studying Microbiology at Peaceland University

Peaceland’s FAQ lists B.Sc. Microbiology in the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, with Biotechnology, Industrial Chemistry, Physics and Electronics and Science Laboratory Technology; the April 2026 advert had grouped these under Science and Computing. Its website names two campuses, the MSP Campus in Independence Layout and the Emene Campus, both in Enugu; it does not say which one hosts Microbiology. A Nigerian B.Sc. in Microbiology normally runs for four years for UTME entrants, though Peaceland has not stated the duration itself.

Is Peaceland Microbiology accredited?

On 1 May 2026, Peaceland posted on its website that NUC had granted full accreditation to several of its programmes after an evaluation in October and November 2025. Its post named Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science and Accountancy and said there were others. Three education sites (DTW Tutorials on 24 April 2026, Myschoolgist and Allschool) printed fuller lists of 17 to 20 programmes, and Microbiology is on all three. I could not find an NUC report page for Peaceland, so the honest summary is this: the university reports full accreditation, the published lists include Microbiology, and NUC’s own record was not available to me. Ask for written confirmation at clearance if accreditation matters to your sponsor.

What you study and where it leads

  • First year: general biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics shared with other science students.
  • Middle years: bacteriology, virology, mycology, microbial genetics, immunology and a lot of laboratory technique.
  • Applied areas: food, industrial, environmental and pharmaceutical microbiology, usually with an industrial placement (SIWES).
  • Final year: a research project.
  • Careers: quality control in food, beverage, water and drug companies, research laboratories, public health and environmental agencies, teaching, and postgraduate study.

One thing to know early: a Microbiology degree does not license you to work as a medical laboratory scientist in a hospital. That route is the BMLS degree regulated by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria. If hospital lab work is your real goal, look at Peaceland’s Medical Laboratory Science instead.

For UTME revision, work through our JAMB Biology syllabus and JAMB Chemistry syllabus.

Mistakes that cost Microbiology applicants a Peaceland place

  • No Physics credit: JAMB’s general O’level line for Microbiology requires it.
  • Agricultural Science in place of Biology: only a few named universities accept that swap, and Peaceland is not one of them.
  • O’level not on CAPS: the commonest reason an offer never appears.
  • Paying an agent: Peaceland says it has none.
  • Buying the college form: Peaceland College of Education does not award the B.Sc.
  • Leaving it late: JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for private universities, and Peaceland can only admit you through CAPS within that cycle.

Peaceland Microbiology cut off mark: frequently asked questions

Is 160 enough for Microbiology at Peaceland University? 160 is above JAMB’s 150 minimum, so you are eligible, and Peaceland has published no higher figure. With five clean credits it gives you a chance, but I would aim for 180 to be comfortable.

Can I use Mathematics instead of Physics for Peaceland Microbiology in JAMB? Yes. JAMB’s brochure allows Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics, and it has no Peaceland remark that narrows this. You still need an O’level credit in Physics.

Does Peaceland University write Post-UTME for Microbiology? Peaceland has not announced a Post-UTME test for 2026/2027. Candidates apply through its e-admission portal, and the offer comes through JAMB CAPS.

Is Microbiology at Peaceland University accredited by NUC? Peaceland announced on 1 May 2026 that NUC fully accredited several of its programmes, and every published list of them includes Microbiology. I could not see NUC’s own report, so ask the university for written confirmation if you need it.
