ADSU Education and Science Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028: Requirements

ADSU set 150 for Education & Science. See the JAMB subjects, O’level rules, what to ask about the teaching subject (including Integrated Science), a safe target, screening and CAPS steps.

The ADSU cut-off mark for Education and Science is 150 in the UTME. Adamawa State University, Mubi printed that figure for “Education & Science” in its approved programme cut-off list for the 2026/2027 session, signed for the Registrar by Admission Officer Dunfe S. Anjili. Every programme in ADSU’s Faculty of Education is at 150, JAMB’s national minimum for universities.

2027/2028 update: ADSU cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Many candidates search for this course as Integrated Science Education. ADSU’s list says only “Education & Science”, and JAMB lists it for ADSU as Education and Science. Neither says which science you will be trained to teach, and NUC’s publication has no matching line for ADSU. This page sets out what is known, what to ask, the official figures, the subject rules and screening.

Ask before you accept

ADSU has not said which teaching subject “Education & Science” leads to, and NUC’s results publication has no Education and Science or Integrated Science line for ADSU. Before you accept an offer, ask the Faculty of Education, in writing, what the degree title and teaching subject are and whether the programme has NUC approval.

ChangeFirst appears in 2026/2027Comparison of the two official lists

Education and Science does not appear on ADSU’s 2025/2026 cut-off list, so 2026/2027 is the first session in which ADSU published a figure for it under this name. The rest of ADSU’s list barely moved between the two years: apart from rises in Law, Biochemistry, Animal Production and Business Administration, courses stayed where they were, most of them at 150.

Where Education and Science sits among ADSU’s cut-off tiers

ADSU cut-offProgrammes on the 2026/2027 list
230 (Adamawa indigenes) and 260 (non-indigenes)Common Law and Sharia
170Biochemistry, Microbiology, Computer Science
160Animal Production, Cyber Security, Business Administration, Mass Communication
150Every other programme on the list, including all Arts and Education courses and the remaining Agriculture, Science, Management and Social Science courses

Education and Science is in the 150 group with every other programme in ADSU’s Faculty of Education. Within the university, only nine programmes are set higher: Law (230 or 260), Biochemistry, Microbiology and Computer Science (170), and Animal Production, Cyber Security, Business Administration and Mass Communication (160).

Is Education and Science the same as Integrated Science Education?

Not necessarily. JAMB’s Education and Science entry is a general one. Across universities it covers several specialisations, including Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Integrated Science, Botany, Statistics and Environmental Education, and each university decides which it offers under the name.

NUC accreditation results for ADSUNo Education and Science or Integrated Science line

ADSU already lists Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science Education separately, each with a Full NUC result. A combined science teacher course such as Integrated Science (Basic Science in junior secondary) would fit the gap, but that is my reading and ADSU has not confirmed it. If you want a specific science, the single-subject courses are the better-documented choice.

Safe target score for Education and Science at ADSU (my advice)

ADSU publishes a minimum score for each course and nothing about the scores of the people it finally admitted. The table below is my judgement as an admissions adviser, based on where Education and Science sits on ADSU’s list. It is not an ADSU rule.

Your UTME scoreMy read for ADSU Education and Science
Below 150Not eligible for Education and Science at ADSU, and below JAMB’s national minimum for universities
150 to 164Eligible. Clean O’level results and early CAPS upload matter most here
165 to 179Comfortable for a 150-tier course at ADSU
180 and aboveStrong. This is the range I would aim for

For the 2027 UTME I would aim for at least 170, ideally 180, with credits in English, Mathematics and at least two sciences.

Catchment and indigeneship

The only catchment rule on ADSU’s 2026/2027 list is in Law, where Adamawa indigenes need 230 and everyone else needs 260. Education and Science has one figure, 150, for every candidate. ADSU has published no state quota or catchment split for the course, so a candidate from Borno, Gombe or Lagos faces the same printed minimum as one from Mubi.

UTME subject combination and O’level for ADSU Education and Science

RequirementEducation and Science at ADSU
UTME subjectsUse of English and three relevant Science or NBC subjects
O’level (brochure)Five credits including English Language, Mathematics and two other science subjects
ADSU general ruleFive credits including English Language and Mathematics (2026/2027 notice)
Exams acceptedWAEC, NECO or NABTEB (NBC subjects are named in the UTME line)
SittingsNot stated in ADSU’s notice; one sitting is the safer plan
ADSU-specific brochure remarkNone found (remarks name UNN, RSU, FUTMINNA and NDU only)

“Relevant” sciences in practice means Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Biology, Chemistry and Physics with English is the combination that also fits ADSU’s Biology and Chemistry Education courses.

If ADSU confirms the course as Integrated Science, a spread across Biology, Chemistry and Physics is exactly what that teaching subject needs.

Direct Entry

The general Direct Entry line asks for two A-level passes in relevant sciences, including the proposed course. For an Integrated Science route, an NCE in Integrated Science is the usual qualification at other universities, but I found no ADSU rule.

How ADSU screening worked for Education and Science in 2026/2027

ADSU ran its 2026/2027 screening online. Its notice, as reprinted by Myschool on 12 June 2026, described an online exercise and did not announce any written test, so do not let anyone sell you ADSU “post-UTME past questions” as if a test were certain.

Worked example: two Education and Science candidates

ADSU has not published an aggregate formula, and with no announced test there was no Post-UTME score to combine with the UTME. So the useful sum is the gap between your score, the 150 cut-off and the safe target above. The two candidates below are illustrations.

  1. Halilu (162; UTME English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics; credits in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics): 162 minus 150 = 12 marks above the cut-off. His subjects fit this course and also Biology and Chemistry Education.
  2. Rebecca (170; UTME English, Biology, Agriculture and Geography): 170 minus 150 = 20 marks above, but Geography and Agriculture may not count as “relevant” sciences here. I would not risk it without asking ADSU.

With a loosely defined course, the safest file is one that fits the stricter sister courses too.

How to apply for Education and Science at ADSU, step by step

  1. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  2. Register the UTME correctly: choose Education and Science with English and three of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, with Adamawa State University, Mubi as your first choice.
  3. Fix your first choice if needed: ADSU’s notice told candidates who had not chosen ADSU to change their first choice to ADSU on the JAMB portal. Our guide to JAMB change of institution explains how.
  4. Upload your O’level to CAPS: do it at an accredited JAMB centre as soon as your result is out. ADSU needs five credits including English Language and Mathematics.
  5. Complete ADSU screening: when ADSU opens screening (in 2026 it ran from 15 June to 30 October), go to www.adsu.edu.ng, click the post UTME link, fill in your details and pay the screening fee (₦2,000 in 2026). Print what the portal gives you.
  6. Watch and accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Accept the offer when it appears. JAMB gives four weeks to accept.
  7. Pay acceptance and clear: ADSU’s acceptance fee was not in any official source I could reach, so take the amount and payment method from the ADSU portal itself, never from an agent.

JAMB set 31 October 2026 as the 2026/2027 admission deadline for public universities, and ADSU is a state-owned public university; that date has now passed. If you applied in 2026, check your status on JAMB CAPS and the ADSU portal. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status. If you are writing the UTME in 2027, start with when JAMB 2027 registration starts.

Studying Education and Science at ADSU

Education and Science is in ADSU’s Faculty of Education at Mubi (listed as “Education & Science”). ADSU has not stated the degree title on its cut-off list; education degrees in Nigeria are awarded as B.Sc.(Ed), B.A.(Ed) or B.Ed and normally take four years through the UTME. One 2026 change does not apply here: JAMB exempted NCE programmes at colleges of education from the UTME (Nairametrics reported it would start with the 2027 cycle, while JAMB’s June 2026 NCE guide shows it already applied in 2026). ADSU’s education courses are degrees, so you still need the UTME and at least 150.

Accreditation

NUC’s accreditation results publication (1990 to 2025) has no Education and Science or Integrated Science line for ADSU. Its other science education programmes (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science) are all listed as Full, maturing in 2028. Ask ADSU about this programme’s approval.

What you study

If the course is a combined science teacher programme, it would usually look like the list below. ADSU has not published an outline, so treat this as a guide only.

  • Sciences: introductory biology, chemistry and physics, and some earth and environmental science.
  • Mathematics: basic mathematics and statistics.
  • Education core and methods: educational psychology, curriculum studies and science teaching methods.
  • Teaching practice and project: supervised teaching in a school and a final-year project.

Careers

  • Basic Science (Integrated Science) or science subject teacher in secondary schools, depending on the specialisation
  • Registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), which teachers in Nigeria are expected to hold
  • Roles in education administration, examination bodies and NGOs running school programmes
  • Postgraduate study in education or in the teaching subject

For UTME revision, use our JAMB Biology syllabus and JAMB Chemistry syllabus.

Mistakes that cost Education and Science applicants an ADSU place

  • Accepting without knowing the teaching subject: ask the faculty first.
  • Reading 150 as an admission score: it is the minimum to be considered. Admission still depends on the pool of applicants.
  • Missing Mathematics: ADSU’s notice asked for five credits including English Language and Mathematics, whatever the course.
  • No O’level on CAPS: an upload done late or at the wrong centre leaves your record incomplete when ADSU reviews it.
  • Leaving ADSU as second choice: the screening notice was for first-choice candidates.
  • Accepting on CAPS and stopping there: acceptance fee and clearance at ADSU are separate steps.

If you are trying again, our guide to JAMB change of course covers what you can still change after registration.

ADSU Education and Science cut-off mark: frequently asked questions

Is Education and Science the same as Integrated Science at ADSU? ADSU has not said. JAMB’s Education and Science entry covers different specialisations at different universities, so ask the Faculty of Education.

What subjects do I need for Education and Science in JAMB? Use of English and three relevant Science or NBC subjects. Biology, Chemistry and Physics is the safest set.

Is 150 enough for Education and Science in ADSU? Yes, 150 meets ADSU’s 2026/2027 cut-off. I would aim for 170 to 180.

Is Education and Science in ADSU accredited? NUC’s publication has no line for it at ADSU. Ask ADSU for its approval status before paying acceptance.
