Fed Poly Ukana Banking and Finance Cut-Off Mark 2027/2028

The Fed Poly Ukana Banking and Finance cut off mark is 100, the JAMB polytechnic minimum that the school also used for 2026/2027, and no departmental figure is published. This guide adds a safe target score of 130, the subjects, O’level rules, screening and CAPS steps.

The Fed Poly Ukana Banking and Finance cut off mark is 100 in the UTME. The polytechnic has never published a separate Banking and Finance figure. Its 2026/2027 ND screening notice asked for at least 100 in the 2026 UTME, which is also JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics.

2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Ukana cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.

Banking and Finance appears in Fed Poly Ukana’s 2025/2026 ND admission notice under the School of Management Studies, but it is not on JAMB’s course list for the school, going by Myschool’s November 2026 reprint of that list. ND admission only happens through JAMB CAPS, which is why the missing listing needs checking first. Check the warning that follows before you pay for anything.

Check CAPS first

Banking and Finance is not on JAMB’s course list for Fed Poly Ukana. Before buying a screening form, check JAMB’s e-brochure and your CAPS page to confirm you can select the course for this school, or ask the admissions office in writing how it admits into Banking and Finance. If it cannot be selected, choose Accountancy or Business Administration and Management, which JAMB does list for the school.

JAMB’s polytechnic minimum stayed at 100 across 2025 and 2026. Fed Poly Ukana used the same 100 in its 2026/2027 notice and has never published a separate Banking and Finance figure, so anyone quoting one is guessing.

Safe target score for Banking and Finance at Fed Poly Ukana (my advice)

The ranges below are my judgement for Banking and Finance, not anything Fed Poly Ukana has published. The school does not release merit lists with scores.

Your UTME scoreMy read for ND Banking and Finance at Fed Poly Ukana
Below 100Not eligible for any ND course this session
100 to 119Eligible; your chance depends on how many apply
120 to 139Good chance; 130 is the score I would aim for
140 and aboveStrong

Set your 2027 UTME target at 130 or more and get clean credits in English Language and Mathematics. The minimum gets you into screening. A higher score is your protection when more people apply for Banking and Finance than there are places.

Catchment and state of origin

Fed Poly Ukana is federal, so applicants from every state can get Banking and Finance places. How it divides its ND places is unpublished. Federal schools usually spread them across merit, catchment area and educationally less developed states, so do not assume Akwa Ibom origin gives you an automatic edge, or that coming from another state counts against you.

Fed Poly Ukana Banking and Finance subject combination and O’level requirements

RequirementND Banking and Finance
UTME subjectsUse of English, Mathematics and any two of Economics, Geography, History, Government, Commerce and Principles of Accounts
O’levelFive credits including English Language (not Literature in English) and Mathematics, plus any three relevant subjects such as Economics/Commerce, Principles of Accounts, Geography and Government
English LanguageEnglish Language and Mathematics credits are compulsory
Brochure remark for Fed Poly UkanaNone found
Exams acceptedWAEC, NECO or NABTEB (named in the school notice)
SittingsNot more than two sittings (school notice)

For Banking and Finance, I would register English, Mathematics, Economics and Commerce (or Principles of Accounts). Our JAMB Economics syllabus will help you plan your revision.

You need five O’level credits, and for Banking and Finance the core ones are English Language and Mathematics. Spend any free slot on a subject useful for the course. Whatever result you upload to JAMB CAPS, present that same one at screening, so JAMB and the school are looking at identical grades.

Direct Entry and the HND route

First-year ND places, including ND Banking and Finance, are filled through the UTME and JAMB CAPS only, with no Direct Entry. The HND goes as a direct application to the polytechnic, outside CAPS, after the ND and the one-year industrial attachment. Our guide to Fed Poly Ukana HND admission requirements walks through it.

How Fed Poly Ukana screening works

In August 2026, Fed Poly Ukana announced its ND full-time screening for 2026/2027. I could not open the polytechnic’s own website, so the table below rests on Myschool’s reprint of the notice. That reprint breaks off partway through the documents list, which leaves some gaps.

Admission listsFirst batch out by 11 September 2026; third batch reported on 26 October 2026Myschool reports

The 2026/2027 exercise has released three batches and is mostly at the acceptance stage. JAMB set 31 December 2026 as the 2026/2027 polytechnic deadline, so if you chose Fed Poly Ukana in the 2026 UTME and have seen no offer for Banking and Finance, keep checking CAPS for later batches.

Worked example for an ND Banking and Finance applicant

Take Mbuotidem, who scored 133 in English, Mathematics, Economics and Commerce, with credits in English, Mathematics, Economics, Commerce and Geography from one sitting.

  1. Eligibility: 133 minus 100 = 33. Mbuotidem is above the school minimum.
  2. Against my safe target: 133 minus 130 = 3. That is inside the range I would aim for.
  3. O’level check: the core subjects for Banking and Finance are among the five credits, and all five come from one sitting.
  4. CAPS check: Mbuotidem still has to upload the same O’level result to JAMB CAPS, or no offer can be approved.

A common approach at polytechnics is to rank by a mix of UTME score and screening score. As an illustration only: the UTME score divided by 8 gives a mark out of 50, and the screening score adds up to 50 more. Mbuotidem’s 133 is 16.62 on that scale, so a screening score of 30 gives 46.62 out of 100. A candidate on 110 with the same screening score would have 43.75. Fed Poly Ukana has not published its own formula.

Your chances of getting Banking and Finance at Fed Poly Ukana

  • The course is not on JAMB’s list for the school, so check that you can select it first.
  • Where it runs, Banking and Finance usually has moderate competition.
  • If you cannot select it, Accountancy and Business Administration and Management are on JAMB’s list.
  • ND lists at Fed Poly Ukana came out in batches in 2026, so not seeing your name in the first one was not a rejection.
  • Offers can come late in the year: JAMB asked polytechnics to finish 2026/2027 admissions by 31 December 2026.

How to apply for Banking and Finance at Fed Poly Ukana, step by step

  1. Start with the profile code: on the phone line linked to your NIN, send NIN, a space and the 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019.
  2. Register the UTME with care: select Federal Polytechnic, Ukana and the subject combination above. Banking and Finance is not on JAMB’s list for the school, so choose a course JAMB does list, unless the admissions office tells you in writing how to be considered for Banking and Finance.
  3. Get your O’level onto CAPS: a JAMB accredited centre does the upload. While CAPS shows no O’level result, JAMB cannot approve an offer.
  4. Settle your choices early: a JAMB change of institution is the answer if Fed Poly Ukana was not your choice, and JAMB change of course explains how to move into Banking and Finance from another course.
  5. Get the screening form: the ₦2,000 form is on the ND application page of eportal.fedpolyukana.edu.ng. Pay, fill it in and print the slip.
  6. Go to screening: bring your slip, UTME result slip and original O’level result to whatever exercise the portal announces. Make sure the original carries your English Language and Mathematics credits.
  7. Accept on CAPS: once Fed Poly Ukana offers you Banking and Finance, sign in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. If a status confuses you, our JAMB CAPS guide explains each one.
  8. Pay acceptance, then clear: Fed Poly Ukana has not published its acceptance fee in any source I reached. Only pay through an invoice generated on the school portal, then clear using your printed JAMB admission letter.

If the UTME is still ahead of you, you should read when JAMB 2027 registration starts. Once results are out, see how to check your JAMB result.

Studying Banking and Finance at Fed Poly Ukana

ND Banking and Finance belongs to the School of Management Studies. The school is at Ukana, in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The ND trains banking and finance assistants who handle accounts, loans, payments and customer service in banks and finance firms.

What you study

The NBTE ND curriculum for Banking and Finance usually covers the topics below. The department has not published its own list online.

  • Principles of banking and practice of banking
  • Financial accounting
  • Money, banking and monetary economics
  • Business mathematics and statistics
  • Law relating to banking
  • Computer applications and general studies

Duration and accreditation

Two years full time, including a short SIWES attachment, is the standard NBTE length for an ND. The HND comes after a one-year industrial attachment and usually needs an ND with at least a Lower Credit. Fed Poly Ukana has not published a Banking and Finance timetable of its own, so plan with that national pattern.

Ask about accreditation early. After its July 2022 resource inspection, the NBTE approved eight ND programmes at Fed Poly Ukana (The Will, 10 August 2022), and Banking and Finance was not on that list. It may have been approved since; I found no public record. An unapproved course can cause problems later, for example when you apply for HND, so get the NBTE approval status from the department before you pay fees.

Careers after the ND

  • Bank teller, customer service or operations staff
  • Microfinance and cooperative officer
  • Loan and recovery assistant
  • Insurance and finance sales officer
  • HND Banking and Finance, then professional banking exams

Mistakes that cost Banking and Finance applicants

  • Paying before checking CAPS: the course does not appear on JAMB’s list for this school.
  • Using Literature in English for the English credit: you need English Language.
  • A pass in Mathematics: you need a credit.
  • O’level missing on CAPS: JAMB cannot approve an offer without it.
  • Paying anyone outside the eportal: the ₦2,000 form is paid on eportal.fedpolyukana.edu.ng.

Fed Poly Ukana Banking and Finance: frequently asked questions

Is Banking and Finance on JAMB for Fed Poly Ukana? Not on JAMB’s list as reprinted by Myschool in November 2026. It appeared in the school’s 2025/2026 notice, so confirm with the admissions office and on CAPS before you pay.

What are the JAMB subjects for Banking and Finance in polytechnic? English, Mathematics and any two of Economics, Geography, History, Government, Commerce and Principles of Accounts.

How much is the Fed Poly Ukana screening form? The 2026/2027 ND screening form was ₦2,000 on eportal.fedpolyukana.edu.ng. Until the 2027/2028 price is announced, budget ₦2,000.

Is 115 enough for Banking and Finance at Fed Poly Ukana? For eligibility, yes: the minimum is 100. For Banking and Finance I would want 130 or more to feel safe, so with 115 put your effort into a strong O’level result.

Sources and updates

The school’s own 2026/2027 rules (a minimum of 100, five credits in not more than two sittings, a ₦2,000 form paid on the eportal) come from the school’s screening notice reprinted by Myschool on 10 August 2026. The 2025/2026 course list comes from Myschool’s reprint of the ND notice for that year (18 July 2025). I got the admission list dates from Myschool reports (11 September, 26 October and 31 October 2026). The 2022 NBTE approvals are from The Will (10 August 2022), and the location is from the NBTE directory. The JAMB course list is the Myschool list of Fed Poly Ukana courses. For the national rules, I went to the News Agency of Nigeria report of JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting (11 May 2026): that report gives the 100 floor for polytechnics and the 31 December 2026 admission deadline. For the year before, the figure of 100 was reported by Nairametrics (8 July 2025), and AllAfrica and Blueprint reported the same. The subject and O’level rules are from JAMB’s polytechnic brochure in Myschool’s reprint (ND Banking and Finance brochure page). My own advice covers two things: the worked example and the safe target scores. I checked everything on 3 November 2026, and this page will be updated when Fed Poly Ukana publishes its 2027/2028 notice.
