The Adamawa Poly cut off mark for Architectural Technology is 100 in the UTME, which is JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics in both 2025/2026 and 2026/2027. Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola has not published a separate cut-off for ND Architectural Technology, and I found no school notice that sets one. There is a second issue to know before you plan around this course: Architectural Technology is on JAMB’s course list for the polytechnic, but no Adamawa Poly admission notice I could find names it.
2027/2028 update: Adamawa Poly cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They are based on JAMB’s 2026 national minimum for polytechnics, because Adamawa Poly has not published its own course cut-offs. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
A score of 100 makes you eligible to be considered. It does not guarantee a place. Below you will find the verified figures, the last cut-off the polytechnic itself announced, a safe target score (my advice), the JAMB subject combination and O’level rules for Architectural Technology, what is known about screening, a worked example and the CAPS steps.
Adamawa Poly cut off mark for Architectural Technology at a glance
| Item | 2026/2027 position | Status |
|---|---|---|
| JAMB minimum UTME score for polytechnics | 100 | Official (JAMB 2026 policy meeting, reported by NAN on 11 May 2026) |
| Adamawa Poly departmental cut-off for Architectural Technology | Not published | No official figure found for any recent session |
| Last figure the polytechnic announced | 120 for all ND courses | 2019/2020 session (Myschool reprint, 15 July 2019) |
| Is the course listed? | On JAMB’s course list for the polytechnic | No Adamawa Poly admission notice names it; confirm on CAPS |
| Programme level | National Diploma (ND), full time | ND entry is through the UTME and JAMB CAPS |
| UTME subjects | English, Mathematics and any two of Physics, Chemistry and Technical Drawing | JAMB brochure (polytechnic) as reprinted by Myschool; no Adamawa Poly remark |
| Screening form and portal | ₦2,000; spy.admissions.cloud | Unverified blog claims (schoolings.org) |
| Admission deadline set by JAMB | 31 December 2026 for polytechnics | Official (NAN, 11 May 2026); admissions run until that date |
Does Adamawa Poly offer Architectural Technology?
Architectural Technology appears on Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s course list for Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola (18 courses, checked 3 November 2026). That is the list CAPS draws on, so it is the strongest evidence available. No other source backs it up. The polytechnic’s admission adverts, as reprinted for 2019/2020 and 2022/2023, give entry rules without naming individual courses. The naija-find-uni course directory, an o3schools course list (25 November 2025) and Wikipedia’s list of the polytechnic’s courses all leave Architectural Technology out. The polytechnic’s own website, adamawapoly.edu.ng, did not load during my checks.
So the course is on JAMB’s list, but no admission notice names it. It may be running quietly, or the JAMB listing may be older than the department’s current intake. I would treat it as available only after you see Architectural Technology under Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola on the JAMB e-brochure or on your own CAPS page, and after the polytechnic’s screening form lets you select it.
Confirm before you pay
Architectural Technology is on JAMB’s course list for Adamawa Poly, but no Adamawa Poly admission notice names it. Before you pay for a screening form or acceptance, check that the course shows under Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola on your CAPS page and on the screening form itself. If it does not, change course on JAMB before screening closes.
Adamawa Poly Architectural Technology cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| 2022/2023 | No figure | ND advert asked only for a “satisfactory score” in the UTME | Myschool reprint, 8 September 2022 (text cut off) |
| 2019/2020 | 120 | “Candidates who scored 120 and above in UTME for all courses” | Myschool reprint of the polytechnic’s notice, 15 July 2019 |
The 2019/2020 figure of 120 covered every ND course the polytechnic was admitting into that year. It is the only cut-off I could trace to Adamawa Poly itself, and it is now seven sessions old. JAMB has kept the national polytechnic floor at 100 since then, and Adamawa Poly’s later notices do not repeat a figure. Some blogs quote a higher “Adamawa Poly cut-off” without citing any notice; I would not plan around a number nobody can source.
Safe target score for Architectural Technology at Adamawa Poly (my advice)
This is my judgement as an admissions adviser. It is not an Adamawa Poly rule, and I found no published Adamawa Poly merit list with scores.
| Your UTME score | My read for ND Architectural Technology at Adamawa Poly |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for any ND course in 2026/2027 |
| 100 to 119 | Eligible, but thin if the course draws many applicants |
| 120 to 139 | Reasonable |
| 140 to 169 | Competitive |
| 170 and above | Strong |
For the 2027 UTME I would aim for 140 or more. Architecture attracts candidates who love drawing and design, and at many polytechnics it sits just behind Civil Engineering in demand. Because no Adamawa Poly notice names the course, nobody outside the polytechnic knows how many places it offers, so a margin above 120 is the sensible cushion.
Does state of origin matter?
Adamawa Poly is owned by the Adamawa State Government, but it has not published a catchment list or a quota split between indigenes and other candidates. I found no rule limiting ND admission to Adamawa indigenes. I would not count on any indigene advantage, or worry about lacking one, unless the polytechnic’s own notice mentions it.
Adamawa Poly Architectural Technology subject combination and O’level requirements
| Requirement | ND Architectural Technology |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Mathematics and any two of Physics, Chemistry and Technical Drawing |
| O’level | Five credits in Mathematics, Physics and English Language, plus any two of Biology, Fine Art, Chemistry, History, Geography, Further Mathematics, Economics/Commerce, Religious Knowledge, Technical Drawing and Business Method |
| Advantage | A pass in Fine Art or Technical Drawing |
| Adamawa Poly remark in the JAMB brochure | None |
| Exams accepted | WAEC, NECO and NABTEB, or GCE; the polytechnic’s advert also accepts NBTE pre-ND results and NTC, NBC or NVC certificates with five relevant credits |
| Sittings | Not more than two sittings (polytechnic advert, as reprinted) |
| Interview or portfolio | None published |
Mathematics is the only fixed UTME subject besides English. You then pick two from Physics, Chemistry and Technical Drawing. Physics is close to essential in practice, because the O’level rule makes a Physics credit compulsory, and you will meet it again in building structures and services. My pick for most candidates is English, Mathematics, Physics and Technical Drawing if you took Technical Drawing in school, or English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry if you did not.
Some polytechnics accept Geography in the UTME for this course, but each of those has its own remark in the brochure. Adamawa Poly has no remark, so Geography is not an option for you here.
The polytechnic’s own O’level rule
For Science and Technology programmes, the polytechnic’s admission advert (as reprinted by blogs) asks for a credit in Mathematics and at least a pass in English Language. The JAMB brochure is stricter: it lists English Language among the five credits for Architectural Technology. Go with the brochure and get the English credit.
Direct Entry and the HND route
There is no Direct Entry into the first year of an ND. ND Architectural Technology admission goes through the UTME and CAPS. After the ND and a year of industrial attachment, you would apply for the HND directly to the polytechnic. The only HND list I found for Adamawa Poly (a blog reprint) names business courses alone, so I could not confirm an HND in Architectural Technology there. See our Adamawa Poly HND admission guide for what is known about HND entry.
How Adamawa Poly screening works
I could not find an official 2026/2027 screening notice from Adamawa Poly. What follows comes from blog reprints of the polytechnic’s admission advert, so treat every line as something to confirm on the portal.
| Detail | What is known | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Who can apply | Candidates who chose Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola as first choice in the UTME | Polytechnic adverts (2019/2020 and 2022/2023 reprints) |
| Minimum UTME score | 100 (JAMB) | Official |
| Screening form fee | ₦2,000 | Unverified blog claim (schoolings.org, page modified 12 March 2026) |
| Portal | spy.admissions.cloud | Unverified blog claim; I could not confirm it belongs to the polytechnic |
| Test | Written at designated centres on campus, on the date printed on your screening slip | Blog reprint |
| What to bring | Acknowledgement slip and invitation (screening) slip | Blog reprint |
| Make-up test | None | Blog reprint |
| 2026/2027 dates | Not published | Unknown |
| Aggregate formula | Not published | Unknown |
When the form opens, look at the course drop-down before you pay anything beyond the form fee. If Architectural Technology is not offered there, that tells you more than any blog list can.
Worked example for an ND Architectural Technology applicant
Adamawa Poly has not published an aggregate formula, so start by measuring how far your UTME score sits from the 100 minimum, from the old 120 figure and from a safe target. Take Amina, who scored 148 with English, Mathematics, Physics and Technical Drawing, and has credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Technical Drawing and Geography from one sitting.
- Eligibility: 148 minus 100 = 48. Amina clears JAMB’s minimum.
- Against the 2019/2020 figure: 148 minus 120 = 28. Even if the polytechnic went back to 120, this score passes.
- Against my safe target: 148 minus 140 = 8. She is above my safe target.
- Subject check: Mathematics plus two of Physics, Chemistry and Technical Drawing in the UTME; Mathematics, Physics and English among her five credits, with Technical Drawing and Geography as the two extras. Both lines match the brochure.
- Course check: Architectural Technology shows under Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola on her CAPS page. Without this, the rest does not matter.
Many Nigerian polytechnics rank candidates by a mix of UTME score and screening score. Purely to show how such a mix works, take the UTME score divided by 8 (out of 50) plus a screening score out of 50. A score of 148 gives 18.5, and 30 out of 50 in screening would bring the total to 48.5 out of 100. A candidate with 110 and the same screening score would have 43.75. This formula is an illustration only. Adamawa Poly has not published one.
Your chances of getting Architectural Technology at Adamawa Poly
- The first question is whether the course is admitting at all this session. Settle that on CAPS before anything else.
- If it is, a score of 140 or more with credits in Mathematics, Physics and English puts you in a good position.
- Near 100, or if the course is not open, consider Urban and Regional Planning or Surveying and Geo-Informatics at Adamawa Poly; both appear on every course list I checked.
- Federal Polytechnic Mubi, also in Adamawa State, runs ND Architectural Technology; see our Federal Poly Mubi Architectural Technology cut-off guide.
- JAMB set 31 December 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for polytechnics, so admissions for this cycle run until that date.
A Fine Art or Technical Drawing background is not required, but it shows in your first semester. Students who have never held a T-square tend to spend their first studio weeks catching up on line work and lettering.
How to apply for Architectural Technology at Adamawa Poly, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME with the right subjects: choose Architectural Technology with English, Mathematics and two of Physics, Chemistry and Technical Drawing.
- Pick the right institution: choose Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola as first choice. Do not pick the separate listing that ends in “affiliated to University of Maiduguri”; that one is for degree courses and follows university rules.
- Confirm the course on CAPS: log in and check that Architectural Technology shows under the polytechnic. If Adamawa Poly was not your first choice, do a JAMB change of institution before screening. If the course is missing, a JAMB change of course to a listed course protects your chance.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do this at a JAMB accredited centre. JAMB cannot process an admission while CAPS shows no O’level result.
- Fill the screening form: when the polytechnic opens its form, pay the fee shown on the official portal, fill the form and print the acknowledgement and screening slips. Blogs give the fee as ₦2,000 and the portal as spy.admissions.cloud; both are unverified, so check the address against an official Adamawa Poly notice first.
- Sit the screening: go on the date on your slip, with both slips, your UTME result slip and your O’level results.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and clear: Adamawa Poly has not published its acceptance fee in any official source I reached. Pay only through an invoice from the polytechnic’s portal, then complete clearance.
If you still need to sit the UTME, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts, and when results come out, see how to check your JAMB result. If Chemistry is one of your two picks, our JAMB Chemistry syllabus lists the topics.
Studying Architectural Technology at Adamawa Poly
ND Architectural Technology trains technicians who prepare drawings, models and site records for architects and builders. Adamawa Poly has not published which campus or school would run it.
What you study
- Architectural drawing, lettering and freehand sketching
- Building construction and materials
- Architectural design studio and model making
- History of architecture
- Basic structures, building services and site surveying
- Computer-aided drafting
- Communication in English and general studies
Duration and accreditation
Under the standard NBTE structure, the ND runs for two years full time. Students who want the HND then do a one-year industrial attachment before applying, and the HND usually asks for an ND at Lower Credit or above. Adamawa Poly has not published a course outline for Architectural Technology, so treat this as the national pattern.
Adamawa Poly is a state polytechnic under the NBTE. I could not confirm the NBTE accreditation status of ND Architectural Technology there, or that the department is currently admitting. Ask the polytechnic, or check the NBTE’s list of accredited programmes, before you pay school fees.
Careers after the ND
- Architectural draughtsman or CAD technician in an architecture or construction firm
- Site assistant with building contractors
- Drawing office or planning approvals work in local and state government
- HND Architectural Technology, or a degree in Architecture for those who want to qualify as architects

Mistakes that cost Architectural Technology applicants a place at Adamawa Poly
- Assuming the course is open: it is on JAMB’s list, but no admission notice names it. Check CAPS and the screening form.
- Taking Geography in the UTME: Adamawa Poly has no brochure remark that allows it.
- No Physics or English credit: both are required at O’level.
- No O’level on CAPS: your admission cannot be processed.

Sources and updates
The 100 minimum for polytechnics and the 31 December 2026 admission deadline come from the News Agency of Nigeria report of JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting (11 May 2026). The 2025 figure of 100 is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025) and matching Blueprint and AllAfrica reports. The UTME and O’level requirements are from JAMB’s polytechnic brochure as reprinted by Myschool (ND Architectural Technology brochure page), checked on 3 November 2026. That page carries no remark for Adamawa Poly. The course listing is from the Myschool list of Adamawa State Polytechnic courses; the naija-find-uni directory, o3schools (25 November 2025) and Wikipedia do not list the course. The 120 cut-off for 2019/2020 is from Myschool’s reprint of the polytechnic’s notice (15 July 2019), and the 2022/2023 entry rules are from Myschool’s reprint of the ND advert (8 September 2022). The screening fee, portal and test rules are from schoolings.org (page modified 12 March 2026) and remain unverified. The safe target scores and the worked example are my own advice. Checked on 3 November 2026; this page will be updated when Adamawa Poly publishes its 2027/2028 notice or confirms the course.
