The CCU Entrepreneurship cut-off mark is 150 in the UTME, JAMB’s minimum for every Nigerian university in 2026/2027. Coal City University, Enugu has published no Entrepreneurship cut-off of its own. Entrepreneurship is on JAMB’s course list for CCU, but it is not on the list of degree programmes CCU publishes on its own website, and NUC has no accreditation entry for it.
2027/2028 update: CCU cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official notice (2026/2027). If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
At CCU, entrepreneurship shows up in two other places that are easy to confuse with a degree: a compulsory entrepreneurship course that every student takes, and the university’s Centre for Entrepreneurship Development. This page sorts out which is which, gives you the JAMB subjects and O’level rule in case CCU confirms the degree is admitting, and lists the best alternatives at CCU and nearby if it is not.
Does Coal City University offer a degree in Entrepreneurship?
| Source (checked 30 October 2026) | What it shows |
|---|---|
| JAMB’s course list for CCU (Myschool reprint) | “Entrepreneurship” is listed, along with a separate “Digital Entrepreneurship” |
| CCU Faculty of Arts, Social and Management Sciences page (last updated 31 August 2023) | Fifteen degree programmes named; Entrepreneurship is not one of them. Entrepreneurship appears only as part of the core curriculum every student takes |
| CCU “About CCU” page | No Entrepreneurship degree; the menu lists a Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) as a service unit |
| CCU 2026/2027 advert (Myschool reprint, 18 May 2026) | Cannot tell; the reprint cuts off before this faculty’s list |
| NUC Accreditation Results 1990 to 2025 (September 2026) | No Entrepreneurship entry under Coal City University |
Put together, I cannot confirm that CCU admits students into a B.Sc. Entrepreneurship. The listing on JAMB’s brochure is real, so it is possible CCU has approval for it or plans to run it, but nothing CCU itself publishes says so. Ask CCU’s admissions office to confirm, in writing or on the portal course list, that Entrepreneurship is open for 2027/2028 before you register it.
Entrepreneurship as a course versus a degree
CCU’s faculty page describes a core curriculum taken across the university: general studies, employability skills, entrepreneurship, and creative and critical thinking. Every Nigerian university student also takes entrepreneurship courses under NUC rules. So you will study entrepreneurship at CCU whatever degree you choose, and the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development supports that. None of this means a full Entrepreneurship degree is running.

CCU Entrepreneurship cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 150 | JAMB national minimum for universities | Official (JAMB, 11 May 2026) |
| 2026/2027 | Not published | CCU’s own figure for Entrepreneurship | CCU did not declare one |
| 2025/2026 | 150 | JAMB national minimum for universities | Reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025 |
| 2025/2026 | Not published | CCU’s own figure | None found |
AbsTechConnect (25 May 2026) states a CCU cut-off of 150 but cites no CCU notice. Treat it as the national minimum repeated.
Safe target score (my advice)
This is my judgement as an admissions adviser, not a CCU rule. Entrepreneurship is a low-competition course in most Nigerian universities, so the score is not where candidates lose out.
| Your UTME score | My read |
|---|---|
| Below 150 | Not eligible for any university this session |
| 150 to 169 | Enough for CCU if the course is confirmed and your O’level is complete |
| 170 to 189 | Comfortable, and enough for most fallback courses at CCU |
| 190 and above | Strong; keeps public universities in play as well |
Aim for at least 170 in the 2027 UTME. If CCU says Entrepreneurship is not running, that score still gets you into Business Administration or Marketing there.
UTME subject combination and O’level for Entrepreneurship
JAMB’s brochure entry for Entrepreneurship (Myschool reprint, checked 30 October 2026) has no remark for CCU, so the general rule applies.
| Requirement | Entrepreneurship (JAMB general rule) |
|---|---|
| JAMB course name to register | Entrepreneurship (Coal City University) |
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Economics, Mathematics and one other Social Science or Commercial subject |
| O’level | Five credits including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, one Science subject and one other Social Science or Commercial subject |
| Exams accepted | WAEC, NECO or NABTEB (CCU has not published its own list) |
| Sittings | Not stated by CCU; one sitting is safer |
| Direct Entry | Two A-level passes including Economics and at least one of Accounts, Business Management, Government, Geography or Mathematics |
The science credit
The O’level rule asks for one Science subject. That surprises commercial students who have English, Mathematics, Economics, Commerce and Government but no Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Agricultural Science credit. Some universities relax this in their remarks; JAMB shows no such remark for CCU. Biology or Agricultural Science is the easiest credit to add if you are short.
Picking the fourth UTME subject
Commerce, Government, Geography or Financial Accounting all count as Social Science or Commercial subjects. I would pick Commerce or Financial Accounting, since they also fit Business Administration and Accounting, your two most likely fallbacks.
How CCU screening works
| Detail | What is known |
|---|---|
| Admission advert | CCU invited applications into its undergraduate programmes for 2026/2027 (Myschool reprint, 18 May 2026). The faculty’s programme list is cut off in the reprint, so I could not see whether Entrepreneurship was advertised. |
| Application portal | portal.ccu.edu.ng (the “Apply Now” link on ccu.edu.ng) |
| Form fee | ₦2,000 according to AbsTechConnect (25 May 2026); CCU has not confirmed it in any source I could open |
| Screening date and format | Not published |
| Aggregate formula | Not published |
| Other routes | CCU also advertises JUPEB, IJMB and pre-degree forms for 2026/2027 |
| 2026/2027 deadline for private universities | 30 November 2026 (JAMB, reported by NAN on 11 May 2026) |
Worked example
CCU has published no aggregate formula, so I will only measure margins over the minimum and my safe target.
Take Somto, who scored 176 with B3 in English, C4 in Mathematics, B2 in Economics, C5 in Commerce and C6 in Biology in one WAEC sitting.
- Eligibility: 176 minus 150 = 26 marks above the national minimum.
- Against my safe target: 176 minus 170 = 6 marks above it.
- O’level check: English, Mathematics, Economics, Commerce (commercial subject) and Biology (science subject). All credits, one sitting.
- Course status: he asks CCU whether Entrepreneurship is admitting. If not, the same results fit Business Administration and Marketing at CCU with no extra exam.
Admission odds and practical advice
- The course status is the real risk: registering a course CCU does not run means a JAMB change of course later, and time lost while other candidates are processed.
- Ask for the 2027/2028 course list: CCU’s portal course list at application time is the best evidence. If Entrepreneurship is not on it, register something that is.
- Make CCU your first choice: if CCU sits second on your JAMB profile, do a JAMB change of institution.
- Mind the deadline: JAMB set 30 November 2026 as the 2026/2027 deadline for private universities.
How to apply for Entrepreneurship at CCU, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Confirm the course first: ask CCU whether Entrepreneurship is admitting for 2027/2028. If it is not, register Business Administration or Marketing, which accept the same UTME subjects at most universities.
- Register the UTME correctly: choose Coal City University and the course “Entrepreneurship”, with Use of English, Economics, Mathematics and one Social Science or Commercial subject.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do it at a JAMB-accredited centre as soon as your result is out. CCU cannot recommend you for admission without it.
- Apply on the CCU portal: open portal.ccu.edu.ng, fill the undergraduate form, pay the fee the portal shows and print your slip.
- Watch for screening: CCU has not published a screening date or format, so check the portal and ccu.edu.ng after you apply.
- Accept on CAPS: log in to efacility.jamb.gov.ng, choose Check Admission Status and then Access my CAPS. JAMB gives four weeks to accept an offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and clear: CCU has not published its acceptance or tuition fees in any source I could open, so pay only what your portal invoice shows, into the university’s account.
Warning
Forum and classified-site posts sell “CCU admission forms” and list private phone numbers. Apply only through portal.ccu.edu.ng, never pay an individual for a “slot”, and remember that every genuine offer must show on your JAMB CAPS page.
What an Entrepreneurship degree involves
Accreditation
The NUC’s Accreditation Results 1990 to 2025 has no Entrepreneurship entry under Coal City University, and I found no NUC report page for one. The status is not confirmed.
What you study
CCU has not published an outline. A four-year B.Sc. Entrepreneurship in Nigeria usually covers:
- 100 and 200 levels: principles of management, economics, accounting, business mathematics and introduction to entrepreneurship.
- 300 level: small business management, feasibility studies, marketing, business finance, innovation and an industrial placement (SIWES).
- 400 level: venture creation, family business, social entrepreneurship, business law and a project, often a full business plan.
Careers
Graduates start businesses, work in SME development agencies and microfinance banks, run family firms, or join business development and sales roles. In my experience the degree pays off most for students who start trading or freelancing while still in school, because employers and investors look at what you have built.

Mistakes Entrepreneurship applicants make
- Treating the CED as a degree: the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development is a support unit, not an admissions department.
- No science credit in O’level: the brochure asks for one.
- No Economics or Mathematics in the UTME: both are fixed.
- O’level not on CAPS: CCU cannot recommend you without it.
- Paying agents: apply only on CCU’s portal.

Sources and updates
The 150 national minimum, the 30 November 2026 deadline for private universities and the four-week CAPS acceptance window come from JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria on 11 May 2026; the 2025 figure is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025). CCU’s absence from the declared list is based on News Central’s list of 2026 university cut-offs (11 May 2026). The JAMB course name and subject rules come from Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s CCU course list and the brochure entry for Entrepreneurship, checked on 30 October 2026. CCU’s programme list, core curriculum and Centre for Entrepreneurship Development are from its Faculty of Arts, Social and Management Sciences page (last updated 31 August 2023) and About page. Accreditation was checked against NUC’s Accreditation Results 1990 to 2025 (September 2026). The form fee is from AbsTechConnect (25 May 2026), which is unofficial.
