Does FCE Yola Offer Fulfulde (NCE)? 2027/2028 Requirements

Fulfulde combinations appear on blog lists for FCE Yola but not on JAMB’s course list for the college. How to check before paying, and the closest alternatives.

Fulfulde does not appear on JAMB’s course list for FCE Yola. Myschool’s reprint of JAMB’s course list for FCE Yola, checked on 3 November 2026, shows 45 NCE courses and combinations for Federal College of Education, Yola, and none of them is a Fulfulde combination. Older blog lists do include Fulfulde paired with Arabic, English, Hausa, Islamic Studies and Social Studies, so the college may have taught it in the past. Because NCE candidates now pick their course on JAMB’s portal, you can only apply for what JAMB lists for the college, and there is no cut-off mark for a course you cannot select.

2027/2028 update: FCE Yola admission requirements and entry rules usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the details on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They come from the latest official position (the 2026/2027 national admission policy and JAMB’s June 2026 NCE registration guide). If the 2027/2028 rules change anything, we will update this page.

Fulfulde is one of the main languages of Adamawa, so it makes sense that applicants look for it at the federal college in Yola. The problem is that the official route into NCE now runs through JAMB, and JAMB’s list for FCE Yola does not show it. Below are what each source says, how to check, and the courses I would look at instead.

Does FCE Yola offer Fulfulde? What the sources show

The two blog lists are word-for-word the same, so they count as one source, and it is at least six years old. That does not prove FCE Yola stopped teaching Fulfulde; it may still teach it as a service course or have it pending with JAMB. It does mean you cannot register for a Fulfulde NCE at FCE Yola through JAMB right now.

Why JAMB’s list decides whether you can apply

From 2026/2027, NCE admission runs through JAMB. Candidates with at least four O’level credits do not sit the UTME, but they register on JAMB’s NCE route at an accredited centre, choose an NCE course and up to three colleges, and are admitted only through CAPS. The course menu at the centre comes from JAMB’s list for each college. If Fulfulde is not on FCE Yola’s list, the centre cannot register you for it there, and an offer for it could not be processed on CAPS. JAMB has also said admissions outside CAPS are illegal.

That is why I would not pay for any form that promises this course until it appears on JAMB’s list for the college.

How to check before you pay

  1. Ask at the JAMB centre: when you go to register, ask the officer to search the NCE course list for the college. If the course does not come up, you cannot be registered for it there.
  2. Ask the college in writing: contact FCE Yola’s admissions office and ask whether Fulfulde admits new NCE students in 2027/2028 and under what JAMB course name. Keep the reply.
  3. Check JAMB’s e-brochure: search the institution on JAMB’s brochure page on efacility.jamb.gov.ng for the current course names.
  4. Look at the official advert: a genuine admission advert from the college will list the courses it is admitting into. A blog copy is not enough.

If FCE Yola confirms Fulfulde: requirements to expect

No UTME score is needed for NCE with at least four O’level credits, and the last numeric minimum for colleges of education was 100 (2025/2026). FCE Yola has not published its own O’level rule. Here is what I would want before applying (my advice, not a college rule):

RequirementWhat I would aim for
UTMENot needed with at least four O’level credits
English LanguageA credit
Second subjectA credit in the subject you would pair with Fulfulde, such as Hausa, Arabic or Islamic Studies
Fulfulde itselfNo WAEC Fulfulde paper exists in most schools; expect the college to test spoken and written ability
SittingsNo more than two

On timing: Nairametrics reported on 11 May 2026 that the UTME exemption starts with the 2027 admission cycle, while JAMB’s June 2026 NCE guide applied it in 2026. Both readings mean a 2027/2028 NCE candidate does not need a UTME score.

How to apply for an NCE course at FCE Yola

Whichever course you settle on, the JAMB steps are the same. They follow JAMB’s 2026/2027 NCE registration flow.

  1. Get an O’level verification code: buy it from your exam body’s verification platform. JAMB lists ₦1,500 for one sitting and ₦2,000 for two.
  2. Get your JAMB profile code: send NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
  3. Create or open your e-Facility account: use the profile code at efacility.jamb.gov.ng if you do not already have a JAMB profile.
  4. Register for NCE at a CBT centre, PRC or IPRC: pay ₦3,500 plus the ₦700 centre charge, give your verification code, pick your NCE course exactly as JAMB lists it for the college and choose your colleges. Put Federal College of Education, Yola as your first choice, because the registration goes to your first-choice college.
  5. Upload your O’level results: the centre uploads them and captures your photograph and fingerprints. If you are awaiting results, the college cannot propose you until the results are uploaded.
  6. Do the college’s screening if it calls for one: FCE Yola has not published a 2026/2027 screening notice that I could reach. A blog reports a ₦2,000 form on fceyola.admissions.cloud and a computer-based test on campus. Confirm it with the college before paying.
  7. College recommends you on CAPS: the admission officer proposes your name and the Provost recommends it to JAMB, which checks your O’level against the exam body’s records.
  8. Accept the offer on CAPS: log in to e-Facility, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS. Offers not accepted within four weeks are withdrawn. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
  9. Pay acceptance and school charges, then clear: FCE Yola has not published its acceptance fee in any source I reached. Pay only through an invoice from the college’s own portal or bursary, then print your JAMB admission letter for clearance.

Warning

Every genuine FCE Yola admission shows on JAMB CAPS, and JAMB has said admissions outside CAPS are illegal. Do not pay anyone who promises an NCE place. Pay JAMB fees at a registration centre and college fees only through an invoice the college itself issues.

FCE Yola screening

No official FCE Yola screening notice for 2026/2027 reached me. A blog page on schoolings.org says the college sells a ₦2,000 screening form through fceyola.admissions.cloud and holds a computer-based test on the main campus, but it gives no dates and the same page contains errors copied from another college’s notice. It also still quotes a 100 UTME minimum, which no longer applies to NCE. Treat all of it as unconfirmed, and pay only after you see the fee on a page the college itself controls.

What Fulfulde as an NCE subject involves

Where colleges teach Fulfulde as an NCE subject, the course follows the usual Nigerian-language pattern:

  • Language: Fulfulde phonology, grammar and orthography.
  • Literature and culture: oral and written literature and Fulbe culture.
  • Teaching methods: teaching a Nigerian language in primary and junior secondary schools.
  • Teaching practice: a supervised school placement.

Careers

  • Teaching: mother-tongue instruction in early primary classes in Fulfulde-speaking areas.
  • Other work: broadcasting in Fulfulde, translation and adult literacy programmes.
  • A degree later: Direct Entry into a Nigerian languages or linguistics degree.

Accreditation

The NCCE list of accredited colleges shows Federal College of Education, Yola with status “open” (checked 3 November 2026). That list covers the college, not each combination, so it does not show the status of individual courses. In December 2025 the News Agency of Nigeria reported that NUC had approved FCE Yola to award its own degrees under the dual mandate, so the college now runs degrees alongside the NCE. It has not been renamed.

FCE Yola Fulfulde: frequently asked questions

Does FCE Yola offer Fulfulde in 2027/2028? Not on JAMB’s list for the college as reprinted by Myschool in November 2026. Ask FCE Yola in writing before paying for any Fulfulde form.

What is the cut off mark for Fulfulde in FCE Yola? There is none to quote, because the course is not on JAMB’s list for the college. NCE courses that are listed need no UTME score if you have four credits.

Which college in Adamawa offers Fulfulde NCE? I could not confirm one from JAMB’s lists for FCE Yola or COE Hong. Ask any college you consider to show Fulfulde on its JAMB list.

Can I take English/Hausa at FCE Yola instead? Yes, English/Hausa is on JAMB’s list for the college and is the closest language option.

The college history is from Wikipedia; its status is from the NCCE accredited colleges list; the dual-mandate approval is from the News Agency of Nigeria (25 December 2025). The screening form details are from a schoolings.org blog page and are unofficial.

Registration steps and fees, and the NCE-only entry rule, come from JAMB’s NCE/ND special registration flow (June 2026), reported by Daily Trust and BusinessDay; the opening of NCE registration is from Nairametrics and Legit.ng (23 July 2026). The 2025/2026 minimum of 100 is JAMB’s figure reported by Nairametrics (8 July 2025). Checked on 3 November 2026; if FCE Yola confirms Fulfulde or JAMB adds it to the college’s list, this page will be updated.
