The Fed Poly Mubi cut off mark for Pharmaceutical Technology is 100 in the UTME, which is JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics for 2026/2027. The Federal Polytechnic, Mubi has not published a separate cut-off for ND Pharmaceutical Technology, and I found no departmental figure for earlier years either.
2027/2028 update: Fed Poly Mubi cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They are based on JAMB’s 2026 national minimum for polytechnics, because Fed Poly Mubi has not published its own course cut-offs. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
The bigger question for this course is whether it is running at all, and the evidence says it may not be. The next paragraph explains why. If it is admitting, the usual rule applies and clearing 100 only makes you eligible. This page covers what to check, the subjects, the O’level rules, screening, CAPS and alternatives.
Check first: I could not confirm that Fed Poly Mubi is running ND Pharmaceutical Technology. The course is on JAMB’s course list for the polytechnic, but it was not in the visible part of the 2026/2027 notice, and the polytechnic’s own homepage says it plans to add pharmaceutical sciences, which suggests the course is new or not yet started. Before you choose it in the UTME or pay a screening fee, ask the admissions office in writing whether ND Pharmaceutical Technology is admitting this session, and treat only an offer on your JAMB CAPS page as real.
Fed Poly Mubi cut off mark for Pharmaceutical Technology at a glance
| Item | 2026/2027 position | Status |
|---|---|---|
| JAMB minimum UTME score for polytechnics | 100 | Official (JAMB 2026 policy meeting, reported by NAN on 11 May 2026) |
| Fed Poly Mubi departmental cut-off for Pharmaceutical Technology | Not published | No official figure found for 2025/2026 or 2026/2027 |
| Programme level | National Diploma (ND), full time | Entry through the UTME and JAMB CAPS |
| School | School of Science and Technology (my inference) | Not confirmed by the polytechnic for this course |
| UTME subjects | Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics/Biology | JAMB polytechnic brochure as reprinted by Myschool |
| On the 2026/2027 advert? | No evidence | Not in the visible part of the 2026/2027 notice; homepage says pharmaceutical sciences is planned |
| Screening fee and dates | Not published officially | Check the polytechnic portal |
| Admission deadline set by JAMB | 31 December 2026 for polytechnics (2026/2027) | Official (NAN, 11 May 2026) |
Do not mix this school up with the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi (FUAM). They are two separate federal institutions in the same town. The polytechnic awards the ND and HND and uses the 100 polytechnic minimum; the university awards degrees and follows the 150 university minimum. On your JAMB profile, Fed Poly Mubi is listed as Federal Polytechnic, Mubi (MUBIPOLY on the Myschool reprint of JAMB’s course list).
Fed Poly Mubi Pharmaceutical Technology cut-off history
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official (NAN, 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB national minimum for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| Any year | None | Fed Poly Mubi cut-off for Pharmaceutical Technology specifically | Never published in any source I found |
JAMB kept the polytechnic minimum at 100 in both 2025 and 2026. Fed Poly Mubi may admit above that line for some courses, but it has not announced a figure for Pharmaceutical Technology. If a website quotes an exact “Fed Poly Mubi Pharmaceutical Technology cut-off” such as 140 or 160, ask where it came from.
Safe target score for Pharmaceutical Technology at Fed Poly Mubi (my advice)
This table is my judgement as an admissions adviser. It is not a Fed Poly Mubi rule, and the polytechnic has not published merit lists with scores.
| Your UTME score | My read for ND Pharmaceutical Technology at Fed Poly Mubi |
|---|---|
| Below 100 | Not eligible for any ND course this session |
| 100 to 129 | Eligible, but weak for a course that many people apply for |
| 130 to 159 | Reasonable |
| 160 to 189 | Competitive. This is the range I would aim for. |
| 190 and above | Strong |
If the course is running, I would aim for at least 160 in the 2027 UTME, with credits in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. Pharmacy-related courses usually draw strong interest wherever they are offered.
Catchment and state of origin
Fed Poly Mubi is a federal polytechnic in Adamawa State, but it has not published a catchment list or a quota split for 2026/2027. It admits candidates from across Nigeria. I would not count on a state-of-origin advantage unless the polytechnic’s own notice mentions one.
Fed Poly Mubi Pharmaceutical Technology subject combination and O’level requirements
| Requirement | ND Pharmaceutical Technology |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics or Biology |
| O’level | Five credits: English Language plus Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology/Agricultural Science |
| Fed Poly Mubi remark in the brochure | None. The only remark on the page is for MAPOLY. |
| Exams accepted | WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and GCE are the usual ones; Fed Poly Mubi has not published its own list for this course |
| Sittings | Not stated by Fed Poly Mubi; two sittings is the common polytechnic limit |
| Interview or practical | None published |
The UTME line is Mathematics, Chemistry and either Physics or Biology. I would take Biology, since much of the course is about drugs in the body, but Physics also satisfies the brochure.
At O’level there is no free choice: you need credits in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology (or Agricultural Science). If you are missing any one of them, the course is closed to you under the general rule.
Direct Entry and the HND route
There is no Direct Entry into the first year of an ND. ND Pharmaceutical Technology admission goes through the UTME and CAPS. After the ND and industrial attachment, you would apply for an HND, but no HND in pharmaceutical technology appears on the blog list of Fed Poly Mubi HND courses I found.
For details of the HND form, see our Fed Poly Mubi HND admission requirements guide. The HND course list there comes from a blog, so check it on the portal.
How Fed Poly Mubi screening works
Fed Poly Mubi has not put its 2026/2027 screening details in any source I could reach. Its website at fpmubieportal.edu.ng has an Admission Portal link, and two reprints of the session’s notices exist, but neither gives a fee, a date or a test format. Here is what is known.
| Detail | What is known | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 ND/HND admission notice | Announced; reprint lists programmes by school but is cut off in the engineering list | Myschool reprint, 8 August 2026 |
| Post-UTME form for ND full time | Released for 2026/2027 | AbsTechConnect, 12 August 2026 (blog) |
| Who can apply | The blog says candidates who did not choose the polytechnic can still apply | Unofficial; you would still need a change of institution before CAPS can admit you |
| Minimum UTME score | 100 | JAMB rule |
| Screening fee | Not published | Unknown |
| Screening date and format | Not published | Unknown |
| Aggregate formula | Not published | Unknown |
Because the polytechnic has not said how it ranks applicants, the safest plan is a UTME score well above 100 and a clean O’level record on CAPS.
Worked example for an ND Pharmaceutical Technology applicant
Fed Poly Mubi has not published an aggregate formula, so start by measuring the gap between your score, the 100 minimum and a safe target. Take Habiba, who scored 164.
- Eligibility: 164 minus 100 = 64. Habiba is above JAMB’s minimum for polytechnics.
- Against my safe target: 164 minus 160 = 4. That puts the application in a good position.
- Subject check: she wrote Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology with English, which matches the brochure line.
- O’level check: credits in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology from one sitting, uploaded to CAPS.
Many Nigerian polytechnics rank candidates by a mix of UTME score and screening score. To show how such a mix works, take the UTME score divided by 8 (out of 50) plus a screening score out of 50. Habiba’s 164 gives 20.5, and a screening score of 30 out of 50 would give 50.5 out of 100. A candidate with 110 and the same screening score would have 43.75. This formula is an illustration only. Fed Poly Mubi has not published one.
Your chances of getting Pharmaceutical Technology at Fed Poly Mubi
- If the course is admitting, expect strong competition for a small intake.
- If it is not admitting, no score will get you in, and the polytechnic will not be able to offer it to you on CAPS.
- Choose a second course you would genuinely accept, in case Pharmaceutical Technology is not available.
- Polytechnics usually keep admitting until JAMB’s deadline. For the 2026/2027 session JAMB set 31 December 2026 for polytechnics, so keep checking CAPS until then.
At Fed Poly Mubi, Science Laboratory Technology (with SLT Chemistry or Chemistry/Biochemistry at HND level) and Food Technology are the nearest running options I could identify. If you want pharmacy specifically, look for an institution that lists ND Pharmaceutical Technology or Pharmacy Technician training in its current notice and confirm its approvals before you apply.
How to apply for Pharmaceutical Technology at Fed Poly Mubi, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME correctly: choose Pharmaceutical Technology and register Use of English, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics or Biology. Pick Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, not the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi.
- Fix your choice if needed: if Fed Poly Mubi was not your choice, do a JAMB change of institution before screening. To move into this course from another one, see JAMB change of course.
- Upload your O’level to CAPS: do this at a JAMB accredited centre. JAMB cannot offer you admission while CAPS shows no O’level result.
- Fill the screening form: open the Admission Portal link on fpmubieportal.edu.ng, pay only through the invoice the portal generates, complete the form and print every slip it gives you.
- Attend screening if called: take your UTME result slip, O’level results and the portal printouts.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and clear: Fed Poly Mubi has not published its acceptance fee in any official source I reached. Pay only through a portal invoice in your name, then complete clearance.
Warning
Do not pay a screening fee or an agent for Pharmaceutical Technology at Fed Poly Mubi until the admissions office confirms the course is admitting. A genuine offer appears on your CAPS page, and genuine school payments go through a portal invoice in your name.
If you still need to sit the UTME, read when JAMB 2027 registration starts, and when results come out, see how to check your JAMB result. For the UTME papers, our JAMB Biology syllabus and JAMB Chemistry syllabus guides list the topics.
Studying Pharmaceutical Technology at Fed Poly Mubi
ND Pharmaceutical Technology, where it runs, trains technicians who assist pharmacists in preparing, storing and dispensing medicines and who work in drug production and quality control. At Fed Poly Mubi it appears on JAMB’s list, but the polytechnic has not published a department page or course outline for it that I could find.
What you study
- Pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacology basics
- Dispensing and pharmacy practice
- Drug production and quality control
- Pharmaceutical microbiology
- Anatomy and physiology
- Communication in English and general studies courses
Duration and accreditation
Under the standard NBTE structure, the ND runs for two years full time. Students who want the HND then do a one-year industrial attachment (SIWES or IT) before applying, and the HND usually asks for an ND at Lower Credit or above. Fed Poly Mubi has not published a course timetable, so treat this as the national pattern.
Fed Poly Mubi is regulated by the NBTE. For this course two approvals matter: the NBTE’s approval of the programme, and recognition by the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) if you want to register as a pharmacy technician. I found evidence of neither for Fed Poly Mubi, so ask for both in writing before you pay any fee.
Careers after the ND
- Pharmacy technician in hospitals and community pharmacies, working under a pharmacist
- Production or quality control assistant in drug companies
- Drug store and distribution work
- Further study in pharmacy-related programmes

Mistakes that cost Pharmaceutical Technology applicants a place at Fed Poly Mubi
- Treating 100 as a safe score: it is the minimum to apply, not a promise of admission.
- Assuming the course is running because JAMB lists it: the polytechnic’s homepage says it is planned. Ask first.
- Paying an agent for a “pharmacy slot”: any genuine offer appears on CAPS.
- Choosing the wrong Mubi institution: the polytechnic and the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi are separate choices on JAMB.
- O’level missing on CAPS: JAMB cannot process your admission without it.
- Accepting on CAPS and stopping there: acceptance fee payment and clearance at the polytechnic are separate steps.

Sources and updates
The 100 minimum for polytechnics and the 31 December 2026 admission deadline come from the News Agency of Nigeria report of JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting (11 May 2026). The 2025 figure of 100 is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025) and matching Blueprint and AllAfrica reports. The course list is from the Myschool reprint of JAMB’s Federal Polytechnic, Mubi course list and the 2026/2027 ND/HND admission notice reprinted by Myschool on 8 August 2026, which is cut off after the first engineering course. The UTME and O’level requirements are from JAMB’s polytechnic brochure as reprinted by Myschool (Pharmaceutical Technology brochure page), which has no Fed Poly Mubi remark. The line about pharmaceutical sciences being planned is from the polytechnic’s homepage (fpmubieportal.edu.ng), which is undated. The 2026/2027 post-UTME form report is from AbsTechConnect (12 August 2026) and is unofficial. The polytechnic’s history (founded in 1979, moved from Yola to Mubi in 1982) is from Wikipedia, and the separation from the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi is from Leadership’s report on the 2023 approval of that university. The safe target scores and the worked example are my own advice. Checked on 3 November 2026; this page will be updated when Fed Poly Mubi publishes its 2027/2028 notice.
