The Brainfill Poly cut off mark for Public Administration is 100 in the UTME, which is JAMB’s national minimum for polytechnics in 2026/2027. Brainfill Polytechnic, Ikot Ekpene has not published a separate cut-off for ND Public Administration, and I found no departmental figure for any year. Its own website states the same 100 minimum for ND applicants.
2027/2028 update: Brainfill Poly cut-off marks usually stay the same from one year to the next, so the figures on this page are what 2027/2028 candidates should plan with. They are based on JAMB’s 2026 national minimum of 100, which Brainfill’s admission page also gives; Brainfill has not published course cut-offs. If the 2027/2028 notice changes anything, we will update this page.
Brainfill Polytechnic is a private polytechnic off Aba Road, Ikot Ekpene, near Mickon Filling Station. Its own website says ND applicants need a minimum UTME score of 100, which matches JAMB’s floor. NBTE’s 2025 Directory of Accredited Programmes lists the course at Brainfill with this status: Interim approval (2025), expires 1 October 2027. Interim approval lets a school run a new course until NBTE’s full accreditation visit, so ask the school whether that visit has happened.

Brainfill Poly cut off mark for Public Administration: the figures
| Session | Figure | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026/2027 | 100 | JAMB minimum for polytechnics and monotechnics | Official (JAMB 2026 policy meeting, reported by NAN on 11 May 2026) |
| 2025/2026 | 100 | JAMB minimum for polytechnics | Official (reported by Nairametrics, 8 July 2025) |
| 2026/2027 | 100 | Brainfill website: minimum UTME for ND | Official (school website, checked 3 November 2026) |
| Any year | None | Brainfill Poly figure for Public Administration | No published figure found |
JAMB kept the polytechnic floor at 100 for two years running, and Brainfill’s own website repeats 100 as its ND minimum. A polytechnic may set a higher mark for itself or for a busy course, so treat 100 as the legal minimum and aim higher if you can.
Safe target score (my advice)
For 2027 I would aim for 110 or more in the UTME for Public Administration at Brainfill Poly. That is my own target, based on how small private polytechnics in Akwa Ibom usually fill their classes; the school publishes no merit list or applicant numbers. If you land between 100 and 110 you can still apply, and your O’level grades and screening will carry more weight.
Brainfill Poly Public Administration subject combination and O’level requirements
| Requirement | ND Public Administration |
|---|---|
| UTME subjects | Use of English, Government, History and Economics (JAMB polytechnic brochure base line) |
| My suggested UTME combination | English, Government, Economics and History |
| O’level (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) | Five credits including English Language (not Literature) and Mathematics, plus three from subjects such as Government or History, Economics, Commerce, Accounting, Geography, a science subject and Typewriting or Shorthand |
| Sittings | Two sittings at most under the standard NBTE rule; the school has not published its own |
| Brainfill Poly remark in the brochure | None found; the base rule applies |
| Interview or practical | None published |
The polytechnic brochure base line for Public Administration names Government, History and Economics, with Use of English compulsory. Mathematics is not a UTME subject here. History is where candidates get stuck, because many secondary schools stopped teaching it for years. Several polytechnics have remarks in the brochure that accept other subjects in place of History, but I could not find a remark for this school.
So check the JAMB e-brochure for the course under this school during registration. If no remark shows, follow the base line. If you never took History, ask the school in writing which combination it accepts before you register, or pick a business course instead.
The O’level rule is stricter on Mathematics: you need credits in English Language and Mathematics plus three relevant subjects, with Government or History among the most useful.
Direct Entry and HND
ND entry is through the UTME; there is no Direct Entry route into ND1. After the ND and industrial attachment you can apply for HND Public Administration, or for direct entry into related degrees where a university accepts ND holders. Brainfill’s website says HND applicants need an ND of at least Lower Credit. It advertises some HND courses, but none of them appears for Brainfill in NBTE’s 2025 Directory, so confirm NBTE approval before you plan around one.
Brainfill Poly screening and how selection works
Brainfill takes applications online. Its website has an apply page and a student portal at portal.brainfillpolytechnic.edu.ng, and it links a Paystack payment page. It does not publish the form price, a screening date or the format of any test, and the banner and body text disagree on the session (2025/2026 in one place, 2026/2027 in another). Ask the admissions office these questions before you pay:
- Is ND Public Administration admitting full-time students for 2027/2028, and is it listed for the school on JAMB CAPS?
- What is the current NBTE accreditation status of the course?
- How much is the form, where do I pay, and what is the closing date?
- Is there a written test, and on which subjects?
- What are the acceptance fee and first-year fees, and is there a hostel?
Worked example (illustrative)
Take Nkoyo, who wants Public Administration at Brainfill Poly. Nkoyo scored 117 in English, Government, Economics and History, and has English, Mathematics, Government, Economics, Literature in English and CRS in one WAEC sitting.
- JAMB minimum: 117 is 17 above 100, so Nkoyo is eligible.
- My safe target: 117 clears my 110 line for Public Administration.
- UTME subjects: Government, Economics and History match the brochure base line exactly.
- O’level: English and Mathematics are credits, and Government, Economics and Literature cover the other three.
- School listing: before paying for anything, Nkoyo checks that Brainfill Poly shows Public Administration on the JAMB portal.
If the school used a 50:50 aggregate, 117 divided by 8 gives 14.63 out of 50, and 30 out of 50 at screening would bring the total to 44.63. That formula is only an illustration. Brainfill Poly has not published one, and small private polytechnics often admit every candidate who meets the rules.
How to apply for Public Administration at Brainfill Poly, step by step
- Get your JAMB profile code: text NIN, a space and your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 from the phone line linked to your NIN.
- Register the UTME with the right subjects: use English, Government, Economics and History, and choose Brainfill Polytechnic, Ikot Ekpene as your polytechnic. If you chose another school, do a JAMB change of institution before screening.
- Upload your O’level result to CAPS: go to an accredited JAMB CBT centre once your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result is out. CAPS cannot offer you admission without it.
- Apply to Brainfill: use the apply page on Brainfill’s website or visit the campus off Aba Road, Ikot Ekpene. Confirm the course and fee with the admissions office before you pay, and keep every receipt.
- Attend screening: take your UTME result slip, O’level result, birth certificate or age declaration, local government identification and passport photographs.
- Accept on CAPS: log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, and accept the offer. Our JAMB CAPS guide explains each status.
- Pay acceptance and register: get the amounts in writing from the bursary, pay only through the channel the school names, and complete medical and departmental registration.
Warning
Pay Brainfill fees only through the school’s own website, portal or bursary. Agents and WhatsApp groups selling forms or promising admission have no link to the school, and JAMB treats any admission outside CAPS as illegal.
Your chances and my advice
- If you meet the subject rules and score 100 or more, your main task is making sure Public Administration appears under Brainfill on the JAMB portal when you register.
- The course has interim approval to 1 October 2027. A student who starts in 2027/2028 would begin ND1 at about the time that approval runs out, so ask the school whether NBTE has renewed or fully accredited the course before you accept, and keep a copy of any letter.
- Ikot Ekpene candidates and those from Essien Udim, Ikono, Obot Akara and Abak can live at home, which cuts the cost of a two-year ND.
- Brainfill’s website also advertises courses that NBTE does not list for the school, such as ND Accountancy, Renewable Energy and Fashion and Designing. Do not register for one of those through JAMB unless the school shows you NBTE approval.
- JAMB told polytechnics to finish 2026/2027 admissions by 31 December 2026, so current candidates should keep checking CAPS until then.
What you study in ND Public Administration
ND Public Administration takes two years with a SIWES placement. It trains you for clerical and junior administrative work in government ministries, local councils, agencies and the administrative side of private organisations. Expect a lot of reading on Nigerian government, law and public finance.

| Administration | Elements of public administration, local government administration, personnel administration |
| Public finance | Public finance, budgeting, financial regulations |
| Law | Elements of law, administrative law |

Sources and updates
The 2026/2027 polytechnic minimum of 100, the 31 December 2026 deadline and JAMB’s warning against admissions outside CAPS come from JAMB’s 2026 policy meeting as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria on 11 May 2026; the 2025/2026 figure is from Nairametrics (8 July 2025). Brainfill’s address, its minimum UTME of 100 for ND, the part-time rule and the advertised course list are from the Brainfill Polytechnic website (checked 3 November 2026).
