The SUMAS admission list for 2026/2027 is out in batches. State University of Medical and Applied Sciences, Igbo-Eno, Enugu State, posted Batch 1 on its website on 9 October 2026 and Batch 2 on 21 October 2026. Each batch is a list of JAMB registration numbers sorted by course. You check it by matching the first seven and last four digits of your own number.
If you find your number, you have ten steps to go. They start with accepting the offer on JAMB CAPS and paying the ₦50,000 acceptance fee on the SUMAS portal, then move on to online clearance, physical clearance with your Faculty Officer, school fees and course registration. SUMAS put all of this in its official “Instructions to Successful Candidates” notice dated 6 October 2026. This guide follows that notice step by step, adds what it leaves out and tells you what to do if your name is missing.

- Freshers arrive and register: from Monday 12 October 2026
- Course change deadline: 3 days, if you were moved to another course

How to check the SUMAS admission list
There are two places to look, and you should check both.
On the SUMAS website
- Go to sumas.edu.ng and open the Students news section.
- Open “2026/2027 SUMAS Admission List Batch 1” first, then “Batch 2”.
- Scroll to your faculty, then your course.
- The middle digits of each JAMB number are hidden with asterisks. Compare the first seven digits and the last four digits with your own registration number.
Batch 2 also lists courses that were missing from Batch 1. Batch 1 carried Medicine and Surgery, Doctor of Physiotherapy and several Allied Health courses. Batch 2 added Nursing, Optometry, Pharmacy, Dentistry, the Basic Medical Sciences and the Engineering programmes. So if you missed yourself in Batch 1, keep going.
One oddity you may notice: the Batch 2 web address still reads “2025-2026 fourth batch”. The heading on the page says 2026/2027 Batch 2, and that is the one to go by.
On JAMB CAPS and the SAMP portal
Your offer also has to appear on JAMB CAPS before you can accept it. Log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng with your JAMB email and password, open Check Admission Status, then Access my CAPS, then Admission Status. If you are on a phone and only see a welcome message, switch your browser to desktop site.
SUMAS also asks you to log in to samp.sumas.edu.ng with your Post-UTME login and confirm your status there. If the website list, CAPS and SAMP all agree, you are ready to move.
Instructions to successful candidates at SUMAS: the 10 steps
The official notice lists ten steps in this order. Each one depends on the step before it.
Step 1: Accept the offer on JAMB CAPS
When the offer shows on CAPS, click Accept. Then print your JAMB admission letter from the JAMB portal. You will hand it in at physical clearance. If you have never used CAPS before, our JAMB CAPS guide walks through each screen and what every status means.
Do not leave an offer sitting unanswered. I would accept the same day you see it, because nothing else in the SUMAS process can start until you do.
Step 2: Log in to the SUMAS ePortal
Go to eportal.sumas.edu.ng and click NEW STUDENT. Your username is your JAMB registration number. Your password is the one you created on the SAMP portal during Post-UTME. Your screening details carry over from SAMP, so most of the profile should already be filled in.
Step 3: Update your profile
Open Update Profile and go through every tab: name, date of birth, gender, phone and email, guardian or sponsor details, O’Level subjects and grades, JAMB subjects and score, and your passport photo. Fill any blank field and click Update/Save. A name spelt differently from your JAMB record causes trouble at clearance, so fix it here.
Steps 4 and 5: Pay the SUMAS acceptance fee
The acceptance fee is ₦50,000. To pay it:
- On the ePortal dashboard, click Generate Fee.
- Choose the Acceptance Fee. The portal sends you to the SUMAS Revenue Portal through single sign-on.
- Check that the name and details on the payment page are yours.
- Pay with one of the methods the portal offers.
- Save the payment reference and download the receipt.
- Go back to the ePortal and confirm the status now shows as paid.
If you paid and the status has not changed, take your reference to the Bursary Department. SUMAS warns plainly against paying into personal bank accounts or through agents. Every university payment goes through the Revenue Portal.
Step 6: Complete the online clearance
Once your profile is complete and the acceptance fee is confirmed, the Clearance Portal opens. Click Start Application and fill four parts.
- Motivation letter. Maximum 1,000 words. Say why you chose SUMAS and your course, and what you will commit to. A template is on the portal. Write it in a notes app first, proofread it, then paste it in.
- Referee. Full name, email, phone number and occupation. Organisation is optional. Get the email exactly right, because the referee receives a link there and fills Form R/REG/07 online. You cannot fill it for them.
- Declaration. Tick to confirm that your information is true.
- Preview and submit. Some details lock after final submission, so check everything on the preview page first.
Before you submit, tell your referee to expect the email. A teacher, pastor or family friend who ignores an unknown link is a common reason a clearance file stays incomplete.
After submitting, download and print the seven clearance forms. Sign the ones that need your signature.
| Form | What it is |
|---|---|
| R/REG/01 | Acceptance of Offer of Admission and Pledge |
| R/REG/02 | Letter of Undertaking |
| R/REG/03 | Provisional Clearance |
| R/REG/04 | Credential Verification Form |
| R/REG/05 | Payment Notification / Proof of Payment |
| R/REG/06 | Motivation Letter |
| R/REG/07 | Referee Form (completed by your referee through the email link) |
Step 7: Physical clearance and matric number
Take your documents to your Faculty Officer on campus. After you are cleared, your Faculty Officer or the ICT Department generates your matriculation number. From then on, that number is your login for the student portal. The full document list is in the next section.
Step 8: Pay school fees and hostel fees
Log in at eportal.sumas.edu.ng/student/login with your matric number. Open the fee section and pick first semester, second semester or full payment if those options appear. Generate the invoice, pay on the Revenue Portal, confirm it shows as paid, and print the receipt.
Hostel comes after school fees. You can only generate the hostel invoice once school fees are paid. Rooms go on a first-come, first-served basis and depend on availability. Hostel invoices can carry an expiry period, so pay within it.
Step 9: Bursary clearance
Print all your online receipts and take them to the Bursary Department. They verify the payments and issue official university receipts where applicable. Keep those originals until you graduate.
Step 10: Course registration
On the student portal, click Course Registration, select the 2026/2027 session and the semester, add the courses for your programme and level, review and submit. Then open View Course Registration and print the form. If you are unsure which courses to add, ask your department before you submit.
Documents for SUMAS physical clearance
Bring the original of each document for sighting, plus photocopies. SUMAS does not state how many copies or passport photographs, so I would bring at least two photocopies of everything and a full sheet of passport photos.
| Document | Where you get it |
|---|---|
| JAMB admission letter | JAMB portal, after accepting on CAPS |
| JAMB result slip | JAMB e-Facility portal |
| O’Level result(s) | WAEC, NECO or NABTEB |
| O’Level result checker or scratch card | Where applicable; bring cards for both sittings if you used two |
| Passport photographs | Any studio |
| Acceptance fee receipt | SUMAS Revenue Portal |
| Clearance forms R/REG/01 to R/REG/06, signed | SUMAS Clearance Portal |
| Completed Referee Form (R/REG/07) | Filled online by your referee |
| Local government or state of origin identification | Your LGA secretariat |
| Birth certificate or declaration of age | National Population Commission, or a court for the declaration |
| Medical report | SUMAS University Medical Centre only |
| Affidavit of good behaviour | A recognised court |
| Evidence of Post-UTME application and payment | SAMP portal |
| Any other document your faculty asks for | Your faculty |
Two items catch people out. First, the medical report has to come from the SUMAS University Medical Centre, so a report from a hospital at home will be refused. Second, the affidavit of good behaviour is a court document. Get it, along with your state of origin letter, before you travel to Igbo-Eno, since both come from offices in your home area.
SUMAS dates and deadlines for 2026/2027

| O’Level upload to JAMB CAPS deadline | 15 August 2026 |
| Post-UTME/DE registration closed (extended deadline) | 4 October 2026 |
| Instructions to successful candidates posted | 6 October 2026 |
| Admission list Batch 1 | 9 October 2026 |
| Freshers arrive; fresher registration and lectures begin | Monday 12 October 2026 |
| Fresher registration period on the calendar | 12 to 31 October 2026 |

The instructions notice does not set a closing date for acceptance or clearance. Lectures for freshers started on 12 October 2026 according to the academic calendar, so anyone admitted in Batch 2 is already behind the timetable. Finish steps 1 to 7 as fast as you can and watch the SUMAS website for any late registration notice.
SUMAS school fees for new students
I could not find a 2026/2027 fee schedule from SUMAS. The fees page on its website (sumas.edu.ng/tuition) still carries the 2022/2023 schedule, and I show its totals below for reference only. The figure on your portal invoice may differ, and that invoice is what you pay.
| Faculty group | Total on the 2022/2023 schedule |
|---|---|
| Medicine and Surgery | ₦351,400 |
| Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences | ₦301,400 |
| Engineering, Basic Medical Sciences, Applied and Natural Sciences | ₦251,400 |
The instructions also mention other charges that may appear on your portal: development levies, an annual professional (college) fee, and departmental, medical or accommodation charges. No amounts for these are published.
Admitted into a different course? Change it within 3 days
Some candidates on the list were offered a course other than the one they applied for. The Batch 2 notice says these candidates must change their course on their JAMB profile to the offered course within three days, or they lose the admission.
Course changes are done at a JAMB accredited CBT centre or through JAMB’s e-Facility portal, for a fee. Our JAMB change of course guide covers the steps. After the change, give it a day or two and then check CAPS again for the updated offer before you accept.
Three days is short. If you find yourself in this group, I would go to a CBT centre that same day instead of waiting for the weekend.
Name not on the SUMAS admission list?
Start with the reasons SUMAS itself gives. In the Batch 2 notice, the university says some applications were not processed for one of two reasons:
- SUMAS was not your first choice on JAMB. The university only processes candidates who listed it first.
- Your O’Level result is not on JAMB CAPS. The upload deadline was 15 August 2026, and SUMAS said candidates without uploaded results would not be considered.
To check the second one, log in to CAPS and open My Olevel Result. If it is empty, visit a JAMB accredited CBT centre with your result details and have it uploaded. Then contact the SUMAS admission office to ask whether you can still be considered.
SUMAS supplementary admission
In mid October 2026, SUMAS opened a supplementary admission window, as reported by Myschool on 17 October. It is for candidates who scored 150 or more in the 2026 UTME. Two groups can apply: those who chose SUMAS first but missed their preferred course, and those who did not choose SUMAS but are willing to make it their first choice.
| Faculty | Supplementary programmes |
|---|---|
| Engineering and Built Environment | Architecture; Biomedical, Chemical, Computer, Civil, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical Engineering |
| Allied Health Sciences | Health Administration and Hospital Management; Prosthetics and Orthotics |
| Dentistry | Dental Therapy; Dental Technology |
| Natural and Applied Sciences | Applied Microbiology; Biochemistry; Genetics and Biotechnology; Information and Communication Technology; Industrial Chemistry; Pure and Industrial Physics |
| Basic Clinical Sciences | Pharmacology |
| Basic Medical Sciences | Human Physiology |
Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and the other clinical courses are not on the supplementary list. If you chose SUMAS first, change your course on JAMB to one of the programmes above at a CBT centre. If SUMAS was not your first choice, use a JAMB change of institution to make it first, then pick a supplementary course. If you never applied for SUMAS Post-UTME, apply on samp.sumas.edu.ng. If you did apply, do not apply again.
No closing date for the supplementary window has been published. Call the admission office on 08067390088 before you pay for a course change. For the screening form itself, cut-off and subject requirements, see our SUMAS Post UTME form guide.
On the list but never did the Post-UTME?
SUMAS covers this case directly. Register on samp.sumas.edu.ng, pay the screening fee, fill in your personal and academic details, submit, then go to the SUMAS ICT Unit for verification and approval. Do it quickly, because the ePortal in Step 2 uses your SAMP password.
Where to go when something goes wrong
| Problem | Who handles it |
|---|---|
| Cannot log in, portal button not saving | SUMAS ICT Department |
| Paid but status still unpaid | Bursary Department |
| Clearance and academic documents | Your Faculty Officer |
| Admission status, course offered, supplementary list | Office of Admission: 08067390088, info@sumas.edu.ng |
| Offer not showing on CAPS, wrong JAMB details | JAMB office or accredited CBT centre |
Keep in mind that admission at SUMAS is provisional. The university says it can withdraw an admission at any stage, even in final year, if you are found not to meet the entry requirements.
FAQ on the SUMAS admission list
How much is the SUMAS acceptance fee for 2026/2027? ₦50,000. You generate it on eportal.sumas.edu.ng and pay it on the SUMAS Revenue Portal, never into a personal account.
Is the SUMAS second batch admission list out? Yes. SUMAS posted Batch 2 for 2026/2027 on 21 October 2026, after Batch 1 on 9 October. Check both, and confirm your status on JAMB CAPS.
Can I do my medical test at another hospital for SUMAS clearance? No. The instructions ask for a medical report from the SUMAS University Medical Centre.
What is the password for the SUMAS ePortal as a new student? Use your JAMB registration number with the password you set on the SAMP portal during Post-UTME. If it fails, contact the SUMAS ICT Department.
Sources and updates
The ten steps, the ₦50,000 acceptance fee, the clearance forms, the document list, the hostel rules and the admission office contacts come from the SUMAS notice “Instructions to Successful Candidates for SUMAS 2026/2027 Session” on sumas.edu.ng, posted 6 October 2026. The batch dates, the way to read the masked JAMB numbers, the three-day course change rule and the reasons for unprocessed applications come from the SUMAS Batch 1 and Batch 2 admission list pages. Calendar dates come from the SUMAS Academic Calendar for 2026/2027. The 15 August O’Level deadline comes from the SUMAS “Important Notice to All Prospective Students”. The fee totals come from the 2022/2023 schedule on the SUMAS fees page, which had not been updated at the time of writing. The supplementary admission details were reported by Myschool on 17 October 2026, and the 4 October Post-UTME deadline by Exam Scholars on 1 September 2026; I could not find the supplementary notice on the SUMAS website itself. The CAPS checking steps follow JAMB’s e-Facility portal at jamb.gov.ng. Last checked 24 October 2026. I will update this page when SUMAS posts a new batch, a new fee schedule or a matriculation date.
