If you’ve been offered provisional admission for the 2024/2025 academic session at the University of Nigeria (UNN), it’s important to follow the guidelines to regularize your acceptance. Failing to do so could result in the forfeiture of your admission. Here’s a comprehensive guide on what you need to do to confirm your admission and complete the registration process.
1. Upload Your O/Level Results on the JAMB Portal
The first step in accepting your admission offer is to upload your O/Level results to the JAMB portal. This must be done at a JAMB-approved CBT Centre. You must also send evidence of the upload and your Admission Status on JAMB CAPS to the Admissions Office at UNN. Your admission cannot proceed without completing this critical step.
2. Accept Your Admission on JAMB CAPS
Next, you must visit the JAMB portal and log in using your credentials. Once logged in, navigate to the JAMB CAPS (Central Admission Processing System) and click the “Accept Admission” button. It is crucial to accept your offer; failure to do so will result in no JAMB Admission Letter being issued, and your admission will be considered invalid.
3. Generate and Download Your Payment Invoice
Visit the University of Nigeria’s website or portal (unn.edu.ng or unnportal.edu.ng) and log in using your JAMB Registration number. This will allow you to generate a Payment Invoice that contains a Remitta number. The invoice is essential for making your acceptance fee payment.
4. Pay the Acceptance Fee
The required acceptance fee is Thirty Thousand Naira (N30,000). With your Payment Invoice, head to any commercial bank, including UNN Microfinance Bank, and make the payment. Ensure the bank correctly keys in the Invoice number, and obtain a confirmation slip that includes your Confirmation Number and Invoice Number.
5. Complete Your Registration Online
After making the payment, return to the University of Nigeria’s portal. Log in using your JAMB Registration Number, Confirmation Number, and Invoice Number to print your Admission Slip. You will then be asked to complete the Acceptance Form online.
6. Proceed with Further Registrations and Payments
Once you’ve completed the acceptance process, follow the instructions on the UNN website for other fee payments and registration steps. This may include school fees, hostel accommodation, and any other necessary documentation.
Important Notes
- Provisional Admission: Please note that your admission is provisional. If it is discovered at any time, including during your final year, that you do not meet the minimum university or departmental entry requirements, your admission may be withdrawn.
- Deadline for Acceptance: Ensure that you accept your admission by Monday, 9th December 2024. Candidates who fail to accept their admission within two weeks of the publication date will forfeit their offer.
By following these steps carefully, you can confirm your place at the University of Nigeria and start preparing for a successful academic journey. Be sure to complete the process within the specified timeline to avoid missing out on this opportunity.
